Who regrets modding their car?
My 2004 Maxima was the first car I did a lot of mods on. I learned my lesson with that car on what to not mess with on my G. lol
But when it comes time to trade in the G, I'll have a heck of a time getting lots of the mods off the car. Unless I sell privately (a pain in and of itself) as is.
Looking forward to the 2017 or 2018 Q50 Red S. I won't go as crazy with mods for that car since tuning turbo cars typically nets more gains. Tune/exhaust/wheels.

I'm hoping to find more local guys to meet up with and work on our cars. I know Sean is local to me---kenny is probably not much further away.
With better weather approaching, I hope we can get some meet time/mod days together. I have a set of Eibachs waiting in my garage!

Sure is a lot of traffic on this thread in only 24 hours.
^THIS! When I was modding my 06TL, I had a number of Acurazine forum members who were local and we all wanted to help each other. I still call them friends, even though many of us have moved on to different cars.

I'll chime in on Rochester's thread. I suppose I am somewhere in between the poll options.
Coming from heavily modified Maximas and having modified every car I have ever owned I feel it's time to pull back and enjoy this car for what it is...my DD. Of course I'll tweak it here and there (tint, small cosmetic mods, stereo) but anything that impacts the ride and driveability of the car I am staying away from. This is why I opted for the sport package, it already has the car near where I want it from a handling, appearance and power standpoint.
Is it hard to not engage the urge inside me to lower the car, add mods to increase performance....absolutely. Especially when that wheel gap is staring me in the face everyday! But alas, I have learned my lesson...once I start, I just can't stop.
Call it experience, call it getting older...but I just enjoy driving the car as is.
With that said, 2nd and 3rd cars are where I am going to focus my attention for modding. Truck, track/street car will have to fulfill my temptations.
I love working on cars but having aging modified cars that you rely on to get to work everyday, take friends and family around is something I am tired of. Been there done that.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it....for now

BTW - I was just in your neck of the woods yesterday at Joe's Auto Upholstery. I'm in Sykesville in spite of my location sig.

A few "tweaks" is all that I'm having done...
This is my one and only DD which my wife and I share, so I have to be "good"
Alright back on topic....
Buy a second reliable vehicle and mod the **** out of your G. There is such a awesome aftermarket for these cars. That's one of the biggest reasons I bought this car. I've modified every car I've owned and I wanted something to occupy my mind for years. This car likely will. So far it's my favorite car I've ever owned.
I vote #4. Eventually I'll be done but not even close to it yet. That being said though, there are a few mods I did that I regret but I just swapped back to OEM until I found something better.
Dang I live in NC and am a huge Honda/Infiniti fan. Your S2000 is friggin sweet I hope to have one I can work on one day. Also your build is awesome too.
I came from two brand new Maximas... a '99 SE 5MT and a '03 SE 6MT. While nice for their class of car, the G is slightly more luxurious, but only by a little bit. Certainly there's more tech. Coincidentally, I sat in a 2016 Maxima a few weeks ago, and OMG that car is luxurious! As soon as you slip into those big comfy seats... Anyway, not my kind of car anymore, but it absolutely is a rewarding experience.

And i'm sure you've explained this before as well, but what turned you on to the late 90s early 00s Maxima?
Why not a V8 around that period (Mustang, Camaro, etc...) or another sport sedan in the same class as the Maxima during that time.
I'm guessing the total package of the Maxima.... style, little bit of power (V6), nice interior, and dependability...

So the 1999 Maxima just seemed the right price, size, performance, etc. When the 5.5 Gen came out with a 6MT, 255hp and all kinds of upgrades out of the box, I had to have it. No regrets whatsoever. Owned that car for 9 years, and modified the heck out of it.
