I have no regrets...yet. I have modded cars in the past which I took too far. Urethane suspension bushings on a daily driver? Never again.

It's why I haven't pulled the trigger on a coil-over suspension.

I got my G because I went kind of overboard modding my last car to the point of unreliability.

I've mostly focused on suspension and visual mods for my G.

IMO there is a point of diminishing returns on mods. As a street driven car I see no need to chase every last horsepower or that last little bit of handling.

In terms of driving dynamics my IS wasn't that far off and was rwd vs my awd. However the overall quality of the car was much better, better paint, interior materials and just felt more solid overall.

I bought this car because I could Mod it. I don't care if I own a Yugo, I'm going to find a way to get more out of it.

I have in the past gone too far with mods (low, hard ride, loud exhaust). Current mods are trying to keep up with wear and tear of 35k miles a year in the city from jobsite to jobsite.

To get my mod fix I will usually keep a second rig around. Right now it is a 95 4runner to take the kids out. $900 at auction, about $1500 in it for tires, suspension and tune up. Can beat on it, throw hack mods on it, practice my paint jobs and get pretty close to my cash back out at the end.

These usually cycle through every 2 years. Pick it up, 4-6 months to get it going, 1 year of fun/ unneeded mods, rock for a while (or they blow up, wreck, or I get an offer) and onto the next.

The only thing is I wish i had bought coilovers instead of springs and new struts. That way i could adjust my ride height and stiffness. But that's about it..

Like I said===>'Nothing is forever'. Pull those springs and struts off and make yourself happy. You can sell the S/S here or locally and make a few bucks back. I have springs (installed about seven months ago) and they're going bye-bye soon.

Not only that, but if you own your car long enough, you can start in on second round of mods replacing the first ones.

Haha I have a 98 4Runner that I picked up for $900. It has 340k miles but starts up and drives just fine with no lights and has no rust and was never wrecked.

I put myself in the category of regretting some mods. I first regret the Tanabe axle back because it sounded just barely different than stock. I sold it and bought the Top Speed. It sounded noticeably different than stock and pretty decent, but overall I got tired of it and went back to stock. I concluded that no aftermarket exhaust will satisfy me when used on a V6 motor. My last two cars had V8 motors and those just sound better. There is just no way around it.

I do not regret the aftermarket intakes because I like the sound and the coupe sport wheels make the sedan look better. That is all I have now.

No problem, buddy. Just trying to lighten things up. Hope things work out for you on the next car.

Say, i wonder where that 87 octane guy is? Figure his will be the only never-mod vote. No wait, theres a nasty comment troll who lives in the Coupe forum. No surprises there, either.

I chose 4. This is the first car that I've gone as far as I have with mods, and I plan to go all the way to a Stillen SC. I feel that ~400WHP will be enough for me to stop. However, handling mods and wheels will continue beyond that point.

BTW, are those Vossen's back there?
