Full Exhaust Question

This may be a noobie question but what pipes are included in a full exhaust system? I plan to replace the rest of my exhaust and would like to know what parts I am able to replace? I am confused with all the parts avail (x pipes, y pipes, etc) and I am unsure of which parts would be appropriate. I currently have high flow cats and Tanabe axle back exhaust installed. What other parts am I able to replace (for ex the y pipe) and do you guys have any recommendations for increased sound and overall airflow? Thanks in advanced and sorry if this is a stupid question I am quite ignorant when it comes to car parts.

Y pipe and midpipe. But be careful when piecing together a full system as the flanges and diameter will most likely vary from company to company.

So basically the diameter of the piping in the Tanabe axel backs has to match the y and mid pipes?

The Tanabe axle-back is designed to butt up to the OEM mid-pipes. I can't speak from personal experience, but piecing together a system could be awkward. Research or contact Liam (member PG-v36_6MT). He has a hybrid collection of exhaust components, and I think the tail-end is Tanabe.

If you upgraded to a full cat-back, you could probably sell the axle-back here in the FS forum without too much hassle.

yeah I felt like the Tanabe was a waste of time/money. The ARK catback was a great kit, just a tad loud with HFCs....now I'm running Invidia which is much much quieter
