Help: Crank no start condition

Hi I have an 09 G37 Sedan and this morning went to start the vehicle and it would crank and act like it wanted to turn over for about a second or two. Then would just shut off. I've had the car for a year now and the previous owner replaced the battery in August of 2013. I did not test the battery as of yet. Also the vehicle is wired for a sound system but there's not one in the vehicle. I am assuming that this could cause a battery drain as the fuse is still hooked up on the positive post of the battery. It has a "SuperStart" O'reilly's battery currently. It has been seemingly slow to start recently since the weather has gotten colder. If the vehicle does need a new battery what are your recommendations?

If it cranks but does not run its not the battery. Id check for fuel and spark first.

Checked the battery 11.9 Volts. Deemed the battery bad replaced it. Starts right up. Didn't have the time to check the battery this morning due to lack of time.

I was just going to ask what the battery voltage is. 11.9 is low, but the question is how much lower does it get when you crank. If too low, then not enough juice to energize all the systems and a crank is a you get. I just replaced mine prematurely few weeks back. Figured better safe than sorry. Easier to change a battery at 50F than 0F here in chicago.

I hardwired my dash cam and drained my battery down because my door was left open.

When i went to start the car, the engine only partially turned over.

In my case and the OP the engine partially cranked and it turned out to be a low battery

Jumped the car and it started right up.

Mis understood ya, I thought she was cranking good. Glad you got it working. I just had to replace the battery in my truck during the first cold night we had this year. Went to start it and just chattered the starter. Amazing how cold brings out the weakness in batts.
