Infiniti has conflicting info, look at the Sport package description under tires
- 19 x 8.5-inch (front) and 19 x 9.0-inch (rear), split V-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45R19 (front) and 245/40R19 (rear) W-rated summer performance tires
Their descriptions are generic, not model specific.
Just my 2 cents, I agree that the OP should have taken a longer test drive. The S is going to be more of a spiritual ancestor to the IS300. Anytime you add AWD you add weight which really hampers the toss-ability of the car. The XS is nearly 3800lbs, shes a big girl ;-).
I had some similar complaints, which I addressed with a Coupe RSB. It really helped tighten up the steering and flatten out the chassis. The stock RSB is like a spaghetti noodle.
Also, reset that ECU. Out of my complaints for the car, power is not one of them. There are a few TSB's that can reduce the tranny/throttle lag. Mine "sh*ts and gets".

My 2 cents here, the Lexus IS a smaller car, IMO smaller the car the faster it feels. I got a 6MT rwd 2009 sedan and I geniunlly believe I'm in a rocket when I downshift (am trying to rev match) and floor it. Btw I do this very not so often at all, no sacarsm here either.

Is it possible he could reset the ecu and have the car relearn how he prefers to drive?

Absolutely. The car defaults to a very conservative tune when you drive is easy for a while. Take it out and beat the crap out of it for a while. It changes everything! After a track day, the throttle is very sensitive and trans shifts very firm. A few days or so later of normal highway driving it calms down a bit. The key is to drive it like you stole it for a few days to keep it in "aggressive" mode.
Will just the rear sway bar from a non "x" G37 make the car more fun or do you need to go all out with something like hotchkis front and rear?
Will adding just the rear sway bar from a non "X" G37 make the car too tail happy (which I do not want) or will it just settle it to be neutral? I dont want to turn it into being unpredictable going around turns, as I dont want the tail to start swinging.
Will the sway bar really make that much of a difference daily driving or do you have to push it to feel the difference? Its just a big car, its hard to believe that just a rear sway bar from a none "x" G37 will transform it that much.

Mine is from a "S" Coupe. It will absolutely NOT make it tailhappy, it simply changes it from a heavy understeer car to a not so heavy understeer, definitely more neutral. I had it running Road America earlier this year, and the difference was night and day. Do a search for my posts, you'll see my reaction to the change.
The install was super easy and worth it. It increased the rear swaybar by 7mm. That's HUGE. The front bar on the X is large at 31mm (IIRC), so the Coupe's 24mm Rear balances it out very well.

No, you don't have to push it to know it's different. But you will be taking turns faster and with more control simply because you can, and it will feel totally normal. More control at higher speeds = fun.
Of course, it will help to have 3-season tires.
That's kind of a given.Notice how many people here recommended you upgrade the swaybars to address your concerns. If not convinced, you certainly seem interested. And since you're probably not getting rid of the car, seems like a slam dunk.

Yes....look at the first document you posted. Under Steering, 14.7:1 Sport-tuned steering gear, there is an open dot, representing "optional" under "G37 Coupe Journey", nothing under G37X Coupe AWD, then a solid dot, representing "Standard" under the IPL and 6MT variants.

There was a brief moment before buying my Sedan, when I thought I would be OK with the Xs Coupe. Sure am glad I made the right decision.

I personally remember looking at the Hotchkis kit before going with the Coupe's RSB, and if I recall the front install for on the AWD looked like a PITA, that being said I didn't attempt it.
The RWD front install looks like a 10 minute job! I would have done that in a heartbeat.

In my opinion, there really isn't much of a need to upgrade the front sway in the X as it's a beefier bar than the RWD models.

So for clarification... what I'm reading is that the only thing more worthy about the xS Coupe over the xS Sedan is the BBK, whereas the steering rack, sways and suspension are exactly the same as the AWD... right? For some reason, I thought the xS Coupe got all the sport upgrades except the manual transmission, but not so.

My understanding [now] is the XS coupe contains the following 'SPORT' bits.
- 19 x 8.5-inch, split V-spoke aluminum-alloy wheels with 225/45R19 all-season performance tires
- Sport-tuned suspension with upgraded springs and double piston shock absorbers
- Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD)
- Sport brakes (BBK)
- Sport front fascia
- Solid magnesium paddle shifters
- 12-way power driver's sport seat
- Aluminum pedal accents

EDIT: I just looked again at the infiniti site for the Q60. The table layout is skewed. The columns for the dots are all shifted left one column. This explains much of the confusion. I even checked in 3 browsers, firefox, chrome and opera. All display similarly.
