Since the G37 is history, what are you looking at for your next car?
Ha! This may be my last great car until I get "basic old man transportation!" My dad is there now. He has this white boxy Scion that looks just like a washing machine. It has a stick and gets insane MPG. Since he is retired, he drives slow as Hell and doesn't like to let people pass. "What's the hurry?" He is a typical old fart who thinks that everybody has nothing to do and nowhere to go, just like him! It's pretty exciting to be able to choose what ever I want (within reason, <100K) and pay cash. Only one time in my life I can do that, and this is it.
If you're sniffing anywhere near $100k, you need to seriously consider a GTR, Camaro Z28 or a C7 Corvette if you're looking for style, power and handling. If you're looking for more creature comforts plus power / handling I would highly suggest E63 AMG, M5 or a Audi S7.
I hope I don't spend $100K! I could, but it takes a while to save that stuff up, and I have a wife and 3 kids. Oldest just started college. If I got away with 40, I'd be happy. This 2016 Camaro is a pretty handsome car in gray. 400+ HP about 40K, close to 600HP (2017 ZL1) maybe 60K. This is looking like my winner. Don't know which. My boss has a 911 that somebody told me was 140K. I just don't see the appeal other than saying that you can afford such a car. A GT350 or a ZL1 will hustle around any road course faster and kill it in a 1/4 mile. But, he makes a little more than I do and says he likes fine things.
If your price stratosphere is sub 100k(implying up to 100k) then run to your nearest Audi dealership and check out the RS7 and haggle like heck to go sub 100k. As for me, when I handover the keys of my g to my daughter in 4 years, I'll still be in Infiniti territory. This is my second and have all treated me nicely thus far and as much as a cts-v or an s5(my other choice) I have decided that no matter how often I have said my'last' car, ride etc, still get something newer, it all depends in what you can afford . If you are clear of $ issues, then get what YOU want Camaro or stang dodge hellcat...I don't think it's going backwards at all, as all autos have move forward in some manner of performance from our younger years, after all, isn't that what we are on a car enthusiast forum and modding our rides...capturing our youth in some form or another...✌️
I'll probably keep this G for a hobby and mod toy. I was looking into the future about four years and really like the XF S. Powerful, sporty, and damn nice looking.
Plus I can get more than one set of sticks in my trunk.

You're considering a Camaro? Yuck. I don't care how fast it is, it's still a Camaro.
Well, whatever man. The heart wants what the heart wants, and that's nothing I'll ever want. Good luck anyway.

My next dream car would be Tesla Models S 85D. I test drove the Leaf and although that car is almost toy I instantly got the feel how nice the electric motor drive is. I can't imaging how nice it must be with Tesla's 500hp motors.
The only problem is Tesla's price tag. Not only it's expensive, it's also that with $80-90k you have so many super nice luxury cars to choose from, making it even harder to swallow the price of Model X.

In a couple years I'll probably be in a spot that my kids are old enough to buckle themselves into a booster seat, but young enough to not need a bunch of legroom, potentially opening up a coupe as a consideration.
Yes, the car is a monster, no argument. It's fast; brutally fast with all the go-fast goodies. But I did say, "I don't care how fast it is", and your counter to my opinion is how fast it is.
Car forums.
LOL
Say, have you guys seen Toe Knee Sea's "next car" thread? On paper, the SS 6MT is looking more and more appealing. At first I was predisposed not to see things in a positive light, but I swear I'm coming around. It's a very moddable car.

No, my counter argument was the Camaro shares nothing with your 1970something model, save for the name, so I don't understand the stereotype. Especially on what is essentially a completely redesigned model.
