What parts should I keep post mod?

I'm wondering what parts I should keep post mod. Perhaps to return the car to OEM and part out the goodies if I were to sell it.

Putting in Eibach springs, SPC F&R camber kit, Hotchkis sways, mount new wheels and tires.

I'm keeping the 'old' wheels and tires (<9K on them) for a winter set. Also, I am putting 4 lug nuts in the trunk for the spare tire.

But other than that, what's worthwhile to haul back from the shop?

Sean

Keep as much as you possibly can store.

Yep, Every OEM part you get rid of you'll later regret.

^ No ragrats here. I've sold every OEM part that I could and threw away the ones that no one would take for free.

As long as you have space, I'd keep everything for a just in case scenario.

If you were to sell the car, you'd get back some of the money you spent on mods.

Those were the answers I was looking for.

I'll put up a neat little shelf in the garage and there they will neatly sleep.

Any tips on treating the parts so they don't degenerate? (unlike me...)

Thanks guys,
Sean

I've alsways sold my oem parts as I've never had to return to stock and I've always found a buyer who was interested in the car modded. But your own results may vary. But if you have ample storage space and don't really feel a need to sell parts - they will not lose any value by sitting in a box.

Sergei,

Did you sell them on this site? Just curious. Never sold anything like this before.

Thanks,
Sean

Yeah, parts for sale section on this site is amazing, especially when someone demods their car. I've also used craigslist and ebay with various success.

For some parts it just doesn't make sense to put the OEM back on. Consider an exhaust system. By the time you sell the car, parts will be rotted/rotting on the car. Chance are you'll break more things trying to get the new exhaust off than worth your time.

Other parts may easily be swapped back on (sway bars, stock intakes, etc). Just something to think about.

Selling parts on the forum, ebay or CL works well.

no need to keep struts and springs unless you have COs that you can make money back on...
include rotors and pads of things no need to keep...

Did you keep your OEM cat back?

Considering an exhaust mod. Maybe Fast Intentions with 12 or 18 resonators or Stillen. Not too loud and little-to-no drone for long trips. Don't think I can do HFC with it because I need to pass stringent MD emission tests every two years.

Not sure what I would go with for an x sedan...but that's a discussion for an exhaust thread.

Also, not ready to PM one of our vendors, because I'm not ready to pull the trigger ...yet.

But...did you keep your OEM cat-back. Judging by the above responses, I can guess the answer...but just checking. Jsolo got me thinking about it.

My garage is starting to look like Pep-Boys. :-)

g37 with mods will sell in 6-12 months

(just think about it not everyone is going to like "your" mods)

Then f&ck 'em if they don't like my mods.
