Question about floor mats
Question about floor mats
Just bought my first Infiniti last week - CPO 2012 G37x sedan, smoky quartz color. Love it.
However, the beige carpet floor mats are already disgusting due to the snow and weather we've had here in Chicago so I am looking for all-weather mats.
Can someone explain the difference between these two? Pretty significant price difference.

I checked a couple places and it appears the cheaper set is discontinued, the cheaper set says G35 2007+ so maybe the grommet placement is different on the 09+ versions
They are the same mats otherwise, so it's a nice deal.
BTW, welcome to the site and congrats on your new G.

WeatherTech mats
If you're trying to keep the gunk off of the floors in winter weather, you might look at the WeatherTech Floor Liners:
WeatherTech FloorLiner custom fit car floor protection from mud, water, sand and salt. | WeatherTech.com
The Floor Liners have higher sides than most floor mats (including WeatherTech's own All-Weather floor mats) so they (IMHO, anyway) do a better job of keeping the slush/mud from creeping over the edges of the mats onto the carpeting. We don't get a lot of snow here in Northern Arizona (some, but not a lot), but I also have these in the wife's 2011 Subaru Outback which we occasionally take off-road. I have no complaint about the Outback liners at all; they fit very well and the rear seat unit is a one-piece unit that has a connecting piece which extends over the driveshaft tunnel, so it fits well and stays in place.
The Infiniti front units are great also. The rear mats fit OK but for some reason most people who get into the rear seat tend to catch their heels on the rear lip of the liners when they get into the car. Overall, however, they are good about catching the dirt and water.
They are a little pricey but do a good job of keeping the carpets clean.

I spent a few minutes looking over the part numbers provided and although I didn't reach a definitive conclusion, I'd almost bet you a beer that the more expensive is a front/rear combo whereas the lesser money is front pair only. Ironic none of the listings I saw mentioned a shipping weight or specifically mentioned how many mats were included. I also agree with blnewt's explanation, but I saw the same stock photo each time, so who knows. I didn't see G35 or G37 on the mat, just "Infiniti"
I ran into this scenario on splash guards - who'd think they sell them by the pairs too?

The WeatherTech mats are a rubber-like, flexible material. I don't know exactly what material it is, but it seems to wear well, at least here in Arizona.
To clean them, I just vacuum out the big lumps so the dirt doesn't fall on the carpets when I pull the liners out, then hose them down with a garden hose to clean out the rest of the trash.
