Higher output VVEL motor, 7AT compared to 5AT, Akebono big brake calipers w/ larger rotors. New front bumper, headlights & grill starting with 2010.

^^^
That's it in a nutshell, even though some of those details didn't occur until the 2010 model year, when they dropped the CF reader, swapped in new bumpers, and improved the Nav screen.

And before anyone jumps all over the OP ????????????, take a look at his post history and you'll see that English isn't his first language.

I had always thought the automatic versions were dealer prepped cars with S badges to make it look sporty. I don't see how you guys can stand those things.

The intake manifold is also different. I believe the plenum is larger.

Its sucking in more air.

So HP and TQ is up creating a smoother and longer torque band.

The car is more driveable however they are about the same when it comes to the speed department.

G37 is a more refined car. G35's engine has a little more noise and a little more vibration. G37 has standard backup sensor I think. The sports rims on G37s are hit or miss for people, but the G35s sports rims won't clear the akebono calipers.

Add to the refinement, I think G37s is around 100lb heavier than the G35s (gotta double check that though).

Does G37s has thicker sway bars than G35s?

IIRC...

1. 3.5 vs 3.7. engine

2. 7 Speed auto tranny vs 5 speed auto

3. Seat heaters changed from switches to turn ***** in 09

4. Door handles inside are a single piece with the lock integrated.

5. New wheels.

6. Auto lock is an option when going 5mph or above.

7. Nav updates after 2010 (different color interfaces)

8. Different side view mirrors

9. Two ambient interior lights for the '07 vs 1 ambient interior light after '09

10. You could rip CDs in 2007 - 2009. I think they deleted that option in 2010

Oh, and they changed the paint from crappy chip-happy paint w/ the easy swirl feature.
In 09 they went to the chip-happy paint w/ the disappearing swirl feature (aka "self-healing clearcoat")
This worked out just well enough for them to go back to the original chip-happy paint w/ the new "very simple to get swirls" feature.

So in short, Infiniti paint blows!
But at least they're not working on it

Do you think they're going to use the Chip-Happy paint on the new sexy Q60? Wouldn't the increased HP cause extra swirls and chips on the paint?

LOL, I'm sure they've got a team working 'round the clock to find just the right mixture of chips & swirls that the avg. Infiniti customer is willing to shell out $55k for

Actually they kept that functionality thru @mid-2012. My 2012 has it - build date Oct 2011.

Mine too (2011).

First thing I did with the car was dig about 100 of my favorite old CD's out of the attic, and rip them into the car's Music Box.

The option they deleted in 2010 was the Compact Flash reader in the dashboard. IDK what they were thinking... that people would carry around CF cards like some old Star Trek episode? Really?

Why would you rip to Music box when you can rip to a USB stick? Music Box seems worthless to me. Real time ripping, so you have to listen to an entire CD to rip the CD, or rip on your computer to a memory stick in about 5 minutes.

Unless they improved it after my 2010, my Music Box only has 8gb memory, and the USB reader also has a limit on how much memory it will read (12gb maybe?)

I ended up buying a 64gb Ipod touch dedicated to the car, to get the memory I needed and the nice user interface you get with control of Apple devices.

No, that's incorrect information. It rips at about the speed a computer would. It takes about two minutes per disk. And IIRC, it's a 9.1g hard-drive, shared by the Music Box feature and the Navigation System.

Oh hey, that's a great idea. Certainly a less expensive idea today than it was 5 years ago. I might actually do that. Heck, my cell phone is purely a car-phone. I only take it out to charge it up.

[edit] One of my kids has a 7 year old iPod Nano they stopped using years ago. I sent the whole family on a scavenger hunt, and we actually found it. It's this pretty teal color, with 8 gig of memory. So I charged it up and filled it to the limit with digital albums, then I plugged it into the USB port in my 2011 6MT. I can navigate the iPod exactly the same way I navigate the on-board Music Box.

That's pretty cool. I think I just doubled the capacity of my car's music library, and it didn't cost me a dime.

Thanks, Steve!
