Sharp elbows or shoddy leather

The lather arm rest on the drivers side door is all cracked and torn after 39 months of usage. Are my elbows that sharp? or is the leather sub par for a luxury brand?

From my understanding it is not real leather so shoddy fake leather.
I too have this same problem. Cracks right where my elbow sits.

dealership should replace this as long as your under warranty

I have had this happen on more then one vehicle, so far not on the G. I think it is the sweat/oil from the elbow, plus the pressure applied.

this is happening to my 2010 as well im out of warranty i ghettod electric tape it.
hate hate this about the car.. cheap wanna be leather i guess

Got the dealer to replace it for free under warranty... they literally replace the entire door panel. But def crappy fake leather. Interested to see just how long it takes before it happens again.
