Auto lock on exit? g37x 2012

I poured through the manual and can't find this, but does the car automatically lock if I forget to lock it upon exit? I know it's obviously testable, but I live in Chicago and don't want someone to make off with the car. Thanks!

AFAIK it does not. I forgot to lock my car one night and came out and pushed the button on the handle and it locked.

In most cars, the auto lock feature works when you unlock the car, open then shut the door in a certain amount of time
Additionally it may work only if it is opened with the remote rather than the button
While I can't say for sure because I've only had mine for a month or so, I thought I made a mental note it did it, just as my Audi and Volvo did

Yea that's how my vw use to work as well. But seeing as now I have the lock button on the door handle I don't see me not forgetting to lock the doors as that's what I use to close the door.
I'd say just get into the habit of using the door handles instead of just closing the door with the pillars.

so I checked, and it does work as I suspected, only when using the remote as opposed to the button on the door handle.

I leave my G unlock in the garage all the time. Many times I would accidentally lock it and unlock it with my remote. Never have I notice any auto locking feature.

i believe you would need to lock it with the remote, then unlock it open and close the door within a couple minutes
