1st Impressions after 50 days
I think driver seat positioning is an underrated/overlooked quality of the G sedan.
Significantly improves driving experience and I too can get the position pretty much perfect, tucked down nicely behind the controls

1. Push the ignition switch to the ON position.
2. Close the door.
3. Open the window completely by operating the power window switch.
4. Pull the power window switch and hold it to close the window, and then hold the switch more than 3 seconds after the window is closed completely.
5. Release the power window switch. Operate the window by the automatic function to confirm the initialization is complete.
6. Perform steps 2 through 5 above for other
windows.
moonroof for automatic operation:
1. If the moonroof is open, close it fully by repeatedly pushing the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch.
2. Push and hold the CLOSE side of the moonroof switch to tilt the moonroof up.
3. Release the moonroof switch after the moonroof moves slightly up and down.
4. Push and hold the OPEN side of the moonroof switch to fully tilt the moonroof down.
I've owned my '12 g37x for about the same amount of time.
Coming from an Audi Cab, which was pretty sweet.
I love my Infiniti, it's a powerful cushy car
A couple things which I wish it had or were different:
Bumpin sound (although the Bose system sounds beautiful, sometimes I like to get loud)
Being able to set the radio volume to be at a certain level whenever you start the car
When I plug my phone into the USB after starting the car, the stereo automatically changes to USB source, I wish it didn't do this
Footwell lights
The transmission feels ungainly, I'm hoping that will resolve as I adjust my driving
Head restraints feel inexpensive/sturdier and power adjusting would be nice
Heated rear seats
Rear and trunk power outlets
More interior storage, interior seems small given its size
Voice recognition is a bit frustrating as is the mic for the phone and nav functionality
Tilt down mirrors in reverse would be nice
I prefer the parking brake in the console because it's easier to use in emergencies
A switch to get better gas mileage

Now, if it were an actual E-Brake system instead of just for parking, then absolutely center console.
The 6MT has the parking brake as a hand-brake on the center console, right where you want and expect it to be. However, when used at speed as an "emergency" brake, it is completely useless. Based on that, I'd prefer it on the floor and out of the way.

.....this thing should be called the "Hold your car in place lever"
I know this question wasn't directed at me but I wanted to give my opinion about the Genesis. I had an '12 R Spec sedan (420hp). The car had almost every luxury feature you could imagine. Loved the cooled drivers seat, especially in Fl. with a black interior. The passenger seat was not cooled and only adjusted 4 ways, so my wife could never get comfortable. And their wasn't any side support on the seats at all.
I also enjoyed the shear size of the car and of course the 420 ponies. I also had the option of using regular gas.
I traded the car in after one year because of excessive oil consumption (1qt/1k miles). They did offer to replace the engine but I just wasn't comfortable keeping a car with an engine swap.
Once I drove the G, I felt back at home! The seats are perfect, except no cooling and getting back to driving a manual makes driving fun again. It's almost as quick as the Genesis and does use premium gas but that's no big deal and has enough bells and whistles to satisfy me.

I'm using a second gen iPod Touch in my 2011 G Sedan, and it, for the most part, works great.
The only issue I've encountered is occasionally on start-up, I'll get a "Check USB" error message. I simply unplug and then reconnect my iPod to fix the problem.

sorry to sound rude here but you new owners should really read your manuals. It tells you how to adjust/turn on/off/settings/etc for just about everything you've listed and then some. Granted there are a few features with the streaming via bluetooth that just arent equiped to do. But seriously...the auto up/down on all windows and sunroof has been addressed 1000 times.
Maybe it's busted? I don't really care I live in Miami where I never use the thing.
