Deep Scratch on Rear Door/Fender

I scraped the rear door/fender while getting into a parking spot in my parking garage (doh!). Unfortunately it's down to the metal on couple of the scratches. I had it looked at by the infiniti dealer and I probably will have to repaint door/fender. Couple questions for the board:

1. Are there any other options other than getting that entire section sanded and repainted? I'm concerned about color of the repainted area not matching the rest of the car (obviously i would go to a place that's using Infiniti "authentic" paint). You can see the damage in the picture attached.

2. Any recommendations for body shops in the Chicagoland area that you have experience with? I found a bunch of places on yelp with good reviews but I trust the board over yelp

Any help would appreciated. Thanks!

It looks like its possibly dented too? If that's the case the cost couple possibly double.

Yes, it is slightly dented. At this point, protecting it from being rusted is more important than the cosmetic ugliness. The quote I got from one place (Damen Auto Repair) is 850.

That sounds like a little too much. Fixing that dent area, probably $50. Painting tops 200-300.
Couldn't you just use like a touchup pen/paint or something.

You might call an outfit like Dentpro - I know that they do color work now as well. I've used them off and on over the years, and I've been amazed at what they can accomplish, and for far less than a top body shop would probably charge.

I thought about that but touchup wouldn't protect that area from rusting, right?

FWIW scraped my rear passenger quarter panel BAD last year. Needed the wheel well redone and then repaint the quarter, door and rear bumper. Quotes were from $900-$1800, went with a reputable shop that did it for $1200 cash (quoted $1350). And mind you this is DC/northern VA prices which should prob be around the same as your area

I would think your work would be in the $500-700 range, make sure you offer cash, usually save a few bucks.

My wife rolled into the car in front of her at a drive thru. They had a bike carrier on and it put a good ding in the hood and knocked off the paint. Got it done at a local place for $300 cash. He has done several friends car and all came out great. Guess the cash offer is the way to go, and depending on where your at.
