Plastidip Lower Rear Bumper?

I'm sure a lot of people done this. Any tips? Do I need to prep or just mask the area around and spray the dip? Any negatives to the original paint? Thanks.

Clean the suface really well and don't wait more than a couple minutes before removing the tape for a sharp line.

Not hard at all, prep is key. like mentioned above peel tape while still wet, if your going to use multiple coats (recommended), then apply a few strips of tape on the edge to continuously peel after each coat.

I taped it off then did a few lighter coats near the bottom followed by a few heavy coats going up to the tape, then peel while it's still wet to get a nice clean line

I had the rear valance area wrapped in flat-black vinyl. It turned out OK after having a second shop fix the botched job of the first. With hindsight, I should have tried Plastidip on my own. Failing that, I should have bought BlueBat's pre-cut pieces. Failing that, I should have had it professionally painted, or gone to a better shop.

Every time you mod the car, there are lessons learned.

In for pics of the OP's work.

For the lower section of the rear bumper? Sure, I'd try it there. Although I certainly wouldn't have high expectations.

You guys are so off-topic. Where's the Mod to clean up this mess?

I was looking at that, but is it me, or does the 06-09 G35's have a different rear bumper than the 2010+? The curves look different.

Yes. They redesigned the bumpers in 2010.

IMO, changes in the fronts were a big improvement, but the '09 rear looked better than the 2010+.
