I pay $40 for an oil change and drop my car off on my way to work and pick it up the next day.

I have had my 2010 G37 since new, about 4-1/2 years. It has 32,000 miles on it. The first 2 oil changes I took it to the dealer, 100 mile round trip, because I had free coupons from when I bought it.
From then on it hasn't been back to the dealership. I do my own maintenance.
It has been problem free since day one.

Paying a premium price onmaintanence for a premium car is normal. It just comes with the territory. That's why Acura charges more than Honda, and Lexus charges more than Toyota. Our oil changes are considerably less than BMW, Audi, and MB's.

You also have the option to 1) do it yourself, or 2) find a lower cost place to service it for you. I personally prefer having the dealership complete the service for record keeping purposes. It's a plus to have these records when trying to sell your car in the future.

I save about $40-$50 dollars by brining in my own oil/filter to Infiniti. They only charge me for the labor ($20.00) and the crush washer. Go to Walmart and buy the 5-quart jug of Penzoil or Mobil 1 and a filter elsewhere. I would call the dealership to make sure they are ok with the labor only.

I'd say the maintenance cost depends on what you're looking at. My dealer charges about $70 for an oil change w/synthetic. Only about $20 more than it would cost me to DIY, so IMO that's a good deal and I let them do that.

On the other hand, after said oil change, they suggested that I replace the air filters, cabin filter, and rear brake pads. They quoted $550 for the job, and I deemed that NOT a fair price.

So I went to my local parts store and purchased all the items with brand name aftermarket parts for $100. I replaced all the filters in under 30 minutes, and intend on doing the brakes next week. Guessing about an hour of my time for that. I gladly would have paid them $100 or MAYBE even $200 for that ~90 minutes of labor (probably even less time for them) but I wasn't about to give 'em $450..

I usually either get the oil change done for $30 at the Infiniti Dealer (I try to do it early in the morning and get a loaner for half a day), or take the car to the Nissan dealer and have it done for $26.

For maintenance other than oil change, I do it in the Nissan dealer and it cost quite a bit less than the Infiniti dealer. At the Nissan service and parts department, they actually have Infiniti parts catalog and stuff. And I would imagine Nissan use the same VQ motor, so they should know what they are doing.

honestly speaking the maintenance on a G37 is not high at all... comparing to my dads family car the maintenance price is way higher
