Really depends on the driver and the location. I have 30% F and Limo Rears. Visibility is a bit challenging at night. However, after a long hot day parked in the SoCal sun, it's not as scorching hot as it could be. Then again, i'm sure cops in Lancaster PA are a lot more bored than LA cops.

So a cop is a douche for pulling someone over for breaking the law? You know, if you didn't get tints that were in direct violation of the law, you wouldn't have to worry about getting pulled over

In NC, tinted windows are checked during annual inspection. I think its funny that people actually remove their tint every year prior to inspection then get them re-tinted right after passing

I have limo tint.....on my moonroof

^I agree that if you get ticketed for tint, you have to hold yourself fully accountable, BUT an officer pulling someone over solely to cite window tint is a poor use of resources IMO.

Yeah I know I'm breaking the law but to stop someone just for their tints I mean come on... Don't they have better stuff to do? If the speed limit is 25 and I'm going 26 yeah I might be breaking the law and they can pull me over but come ooooooon

It depends on the town, they actually might not have anything better to do

Anyways, the tint shop was nice enough to agree to redo it in a lighter shade for a fraction of the full price. So, now my question is whether to get 35% all the way around? Or 35% on the sides and 20% in the back?

Lemme know what you guys think.
Here in NC if it's a fix it ticket you can fake it. Don't drive the car to court and get a shop to print you a receipt saying it was stripped and you paid them. I've had 15% tint on 3 different cars for about 6-7 years and never had problems besides bribing someone to inspect it.

I had 20% tint on my 2 front side windows on both of my previous FX's...matched the OEM rear & side windows.

I got pulled over once and was given a warning...lucky my daughter was sitting in the back, so he went easy on me.

After years of dealing with finding Inspection Stations to pass due to my "illegal" tint, I decided to go with the 35% legal limit tint on my G37xS.

The place I got mine tinted measured the OEM tint and it was already 11%, so I went with a 45% tint on the sides and back...which came out to around 35% MA limit.

Looks pretty good due to the graphite interior.

I have 20% all around and have never pulled over. Maybe they feel this way. Your windows are darker than the laws allows. They dont know if you are young or old and how your vision is. Maybe in a storm or at night your vision is compromised and you dont see a light change red and you run it and cause an accident. You would be totally screwed if a person died.

Get as dark as you legally can in accordance to local laws.

It's for officer safety, when you get pulled over and the officer approaches the car he doesn't know if you're in possession of any weapons...whenever I get pulled over at night I shut off the engine, roll down my windows, turn on the interior dome light and put my hands on the wheels. I figure the more relaxed the officer is the nicer he MAY be...

That's a ridiculous reason. Roll your windows down.

I recommend paying the ticket and keeping the tint as is. By assessing the mathematical probability of being pulled over again, there is a VERY low chance of this happening again for a looooong while.

Similarly since I haven't been pulled over for about 10 years with 20% or darker tint on the various cars I've owned, the probability states I should be due for a ticket any moment (especially upon crossing into the US). LOL

I happily run 15% all around on my Q50. I'm thinking of adding more tint to the rear to achieve 5% or so.
