Ah, no. That's not acceptable. Clutch failure is seriously unsafe.

19,000 miles. Although a 2011, it's still just a baby.

Thanks serpens! I had no idea this variant was out there. This is likely in my future, unless Infiniti picks up the ball.

No problem, I'm glad someone else sees the appeal of a true 4-seasons convertible. It may be heavy but I think it'd be the best daily driver for me.

^You could just buy a G37 convert and put narrow snow tires on it. My friend runs an 03 BMW 330ci RWD Convertible with 205 series Blizzaks on it in MN winter and you can't stop the car. Their Nissan Rogue SUV on the OEM Dunlops got stuck at the end of their driveway and the 3 series went right past in 2 feet of snow, just shooting rooster tails out the back. Their summer car is the most snow friendly, surprisingly hahaha.

Pulled the trigger. After many test rides (Audi, BMW, Lexus, etc), much reading (this place rocks, for real!), and more than a little deliberation, I ended up going with a '12 Infiniti g37x with the sport appearance. The car did everything I wanted it to do: handles like a Bimmer, more connected that Lexus and more reliable that Audi and BMW. Plus, it looks like sex on wheels compared to the lot of them.

I thought I might be giving something up by not going with a Manual, and perhaps I have, but at the end of the day, safety and security (especially after the last PA winter) and the quieter and more comfortable ride won me over. It's a CPO for added peace of mind. Also, the 70+ mile ride I took yesterday told me the seats in the Sport Appearance make a big difference - bolster and extra leg support are awesome.

Thanks again for all of the help. Pics to come.

However, I'm happy for you, OP. Congratulations. For a lot of people, getting exactly the car you want is a luxury unto itself.

My neighbor has one in dark red with a tan interior. Really good looking car. Also I drive a RWD S 6AT sedan all year round with no issues in the snow. After Thanksgiving I install the winter tires and do just fine. in fact my RWD car with the winter tires mounted is easier to drive in the snow than my previous xS with the stock all season tires.

Lol. Someone hasn't driven a modern non-sport package BMW...they aren't nearly as sharp as they used to be (and complete with numb steering). I get them as loaners and the G37x can easily hold its own.

Yeah, been a while. That's disappointing.

This 'sport' pack G37x handles as well as a non sport xdrive bimmer? I could see that. Just shows how Infiniti's OEM suspension tuning is a step behind BMWs... And if your comparing a modern BMW to a old Infiniti, atleast make it apples to apples and compare the F30 3 series and a Q50. The G37xS is most comparable with the E90 3 series which is... quite a bit better car to drive than the AWD V36.

I was comparing a run of the mill G37x to a run of the mill xdrive F30 3-series actually, as that's what I have experience with. I'd say their comparable, with the Infiniti having a touch less float. I say this even though my G37x is getting on in years. As far as the base model suspension tuning is concerned, Infiniti isn't a step behind at all. They have the talent available although it clearly wasn't applied to the Q50.

I compared an G37x to a modern 3-series because the new BMW 320i xdrive loaners I get are comparable in price to a G37x/Q40 AWD that you can still get from the dealer. The Q50 is actually more expensive. And you don't need to tell me about how an E90 drives, I had a 335i 6MT M-sport in the past.

I don't know how you went from a 335i M sport 6MT to a G37x.. I'll be honest haha. Either that or the new car factor hasn't worn off yet or you don't push your cars past normal driving. This car drives decently (IMO) until you begin to push it. And thats when the plowing and understeering and body rolling comes into place.

Agreed, I've driven both and the G37 drives like a big boat, while the BWM like a go-cart.
The Infiniti only feels tight in a straight line. But then again, it's a much bigger car.
