Only thing I would consider doing is the belt and only if the ribbed side is showing cracks perpendicular to the ribs or if it is fraying. All of that other stuff is high margin profit for the dealer, completely unnecessary, and a total waste of money.

The only situation in which I would recommend the premium service intervals is if you drive the car very hard.

All of those except the ATF fluid can be done in your garage. The ATF requires special equipment to get the level just right. Assuming you have basic hand tools, floor jack, jack stands, etc, the cost is mostly in parts and time. Go synthetic if you're doing it yourself and plan on holding on to the car.

Here is what I consider the best answer: 36-month lease. Do your scheduled oil/filter changes and skip the rest of the kind of stuff the dealer claims need be done. Turn car in in 36 months, and lease another Infiniti. Extra incentives if you do a new lease as a lease customer. If you plan to but more than 15k miles on the car per year, then yes, buy and do all maintenance on schedule to extend the life of the car.

Thanks to this forum, I have cleaned the throttle bodies, changed the serpentine belt, changed out the differential oil, transmission oil (6MT) cabin filter, oil changes, installed lighted kick plates and GT-R start button. I'm going to change out the brake fluid this fall before I put her away. I'll check out the pads at the same time, if they're down, I'll replace them. I may replace the antifreeze also. This site is OUTSTANDING! I also changed out the PS fluid. There's a DIY here on that, "a piece of cake."

I agree.

Changed mine last Saturday also. Randomly made an appointment and now at 48.5k miles, car feels better than when I bought it.

how many miles were you at when you decided to change your atf fluid? normally 50k would be the safe bet.

Brake fluid and diff fluid at 30k. Belts check if they are cracked, if not just wait until you see cracks develop.

The 7AT does not have a fluid replacement interval. We all know a "lifetime" fluid really isn't that so use your own discretion. I plan on changing mine at 60k.

Pic of my 6MT trans fluid at ~18K. I can't imagine the auto being that much better.

Guess which is new vs 18K

Lego, back in June, at 19K miles, I had my tranny fluid swapped out for Redline MT-85. Now I don't have a side-by-side picture for pudding proof, but the OEM fluid was clean as baby spit, just like the new gear oil.

(We'll just pick this conversation right back up off the table, four months later. LOL)

Pudding? Proof???

Guys, manual tranny gear oil is nothing like auto tranny fluid. Just because it may have a darker color does not mean it's not still perfectly good. Unless you have tracked the car and know that the tranny temps were high enough to burn the oil, I wouldn't worry about a little color in oil that's been used less than 20K miles.

Beats me

Maybe mine is a result of all those 7500 rpm shifts??
