Just spitballing here - Your thoughts?

I won't have the funds to do this for a while, but I thought I would see what you guys thought. I would do it right, no corner cutting. Best parts, best shop to do the work, get everything truly right. My thought is - Make a real IPL G37 sedan, how I think it should have been made if it had existed.

I like the idea, my modifying philosophy is to achieve my interpretation of a OEM sport pkg beyond what Infiniti/Nissan currently offers (mainly as far as appearance, but also mild performance)

That said, I'd be interested in what you'd come up with, but I think you might be better off making your own creation than a replica IPL

Everyone on here is making an "IPL" with their modifications.......................at least what they believe it should be limited only by what they can afford. IPL, Infiniti Performance Line, basically what each person is doing on here already. You would be no different

I think the IPL was a kinda a lame effort

for the amount you're going to spend, why not invest thay money in a forced induction setup?

Agree with Lego, why spend all the $$ on looks ? Save for FI and a FI Sedan . That's more impressive IMO . I never liked the IPL to begin with all that extra $$ for no power . But I guess they finally got the it with the FI Q coming out . But we'll see .

I think the OP's idea is respectable, even if the IPL Coupe could have and should have been much more than the minimal effort INFINITI put into it. So I'm in for results, but not holding my breath, either, no offense.

Also, I dial right into STownSaint here. This is an automotive ideal that I relate to.

To clarify - not to be an IPL clone or anything. It'd look roughly the same as it does now. I just mean IPL as in, what the performance SHOULD BE for an "Infiniti Performance Line" vehicle. Forced induction is fine, but I just like idea of an NA LS3.

The VQ37HR is a far cry from an LS3.

But to echo others, I think we are all shooting for our individual interpretation of what we think the G37 should have been. A little better looking, a little better handling, and a little faster

I wouldn't hold your breath at all - It'll be years until I get to this. Just thought I'd gather some opinions. When I do it though, if you're still here, you'll see a build thread.

Unless I total the G, I'll be here in two years. Probably in 6 years, actually.

What are your thoughts on the big side ground-effects on the IPL? How would you do that for the Sedan without looking goofy? The Carbon Signal side skirts might be a place to start there. Seems to me the AE Sedan interior comes pretty close to what you're thinking. Just needs a little something more to tip it over the fence as an IPL Sedan.

Just stick a GT-R badge on the trunk and call it a day.

I sometimes day dream about having boat loads of money, and doing an LS swap. The VQ is a great engine though.. I did however see an LS1 or 2 in a G35 on youtube.

For an IPL sedan, I could see a subtle visual concept, similar to the bulldozer style front bumper of the IPL coupe, but after that, I would want the best exhaust, best intake, already tuned---turn key. You know?
