Infiniti Coding

Has there been any attempts to use the Consult3 or any other tools on our cars? Coming from the 335, I had the ability to plug my computer into the ODBII port and install the Alpina Transmission flash (which changed shift points and fixed a lot of crappy shifting issues) and you could also use it to add/delete features/warnings/etc. (i.e. getting rid of the adaptive headlight warning, TPMS, all sorts of stuff).

Just curious, as it opened up a whole new world of tweaking.

Also, if this post is out of line or against any rules, please feel free to delete it and accept my apologies.

Thanks!

I asked this question before. Apparently there is no way. BWM community is much bigger and i heard a lot of cool things can be done with coding

I love this idea! I am new to modding, didn't know you could do that to BMW's. There must be a way to do it to the G's. Hopefully there is a tech guru on the site who can help with this topic. I'm going to subscribe to the thread in the hopes that there is

Yeah...BMWs (especially the 335) you could do a lot with... there is a site that discusses coding to the degree of doing your own tunes with nothing more than the ODBII cable and a computer and a free program they came up with. Pretty bad *** stuff, not to mention the coding out of errors or the addition of features (of course, as long as the hardware was present).

If people can tune these cars, then software can be made to do it. Also for more practical things... I was reading some of the TPMS threads today. Resetting those without having to take your car apart our handing the dealer a fistfull of cash would be cool.

Has anyone here seen/used the Consult3 tool? I wonder what capabilities that possesses... I saw online where one could pick it up for a little over 100..

I may bump this thread every couple months or so just in case someone knows something about this. The main questions in this thread are:

1) Has anyone here used Consut3 themselves and what can it do for you (I suppose I'm aiming this mostly at the guys here who work at Infiniti, but you can buy the cable and program online from a couple quick searches).

2) Could shift points be changed in the transmission ECU with that or would it require another program (or would it just simply not be possible at the moment). Changing the transmission to the Alpina flash made a world of difference in shift delay on he 335, and that only took about 30 minutes to do (it also showed what gear you were in while in D mode, which was kinda nice). Shift delay is probably my only complaint with this car... I don't like changing gears, counting to two, and then having it wake up and say, "oh.. what... me...? Did you want to go faster? Oh yeah... ok, lemme get right on that for ya..."

Bimmerboost made a program that acted as a tune where the community came up with maps and such... it was a pretty cool thing. I don't know enough about changing the values of cells on tables relating to vehicle performance to go play with that myself when I had the car, but I'd have to think that with such a big, angry engine like we have we could squeeze some more fun out of it if someone had a solid understanding of computers and tuning...

Loved my 07 335i; got stolen. Ran 11's got 20+ on the highway and ton's of mods available. It seems to be the Mustang of Europe, there are more forum members on the e90 forums then there were on the Mustang and Corvette forums.

I've been trying to get a hold of one. I got a friend who works at Infiniti. And I've been trying to convince him to let me use the Consult III. Only thing stopping him is they have to input their Tech ID as apparently everything is traced on that laptop.

I've been trying to get a hold of it to turn off the DRL on my G as Canadian G have their Xenons set as DRL. And I've got ironman LED that are really bright.
And I've burned through a set of Xenon because of them being on constantly : P
