Need help guys and gals

I just picked up my sedan from a body shop that was recommended by my insurance company. Upon driving my vehicle home from the shop I noticed that the brakes were shuddering. I have recently replaced my front rotors with Adams slotted rotors and factory pads at the dealer before taking my car to said shop, absolutely no problems with the brakes. I brought my car there for a rear bumper repair after being rear ended about a month back. Since the shuddering was new I obviously inspected the car when I got home and noticed the front rotors had one spot on each rotor where the brake pads looked melted on the disks. There is about 1/16 of the brake pads material on the rotor. I have strong suspicion that my car was taken for a joy ride and abused while at the shop. Also, my rear tires are almost down to the wear bars whereas the fronts have plenty of tread life left. Does anyone know if the condition I explained represents someone doing burnouts and otherwise abusing my car? I know something is very wrong, but I have never done anything to any car that I have owned to cause this. Anyone have any info?

Sorry to hear that about your car but it sounds like they were doing burnouts. Confront them asap and I hope it gets resolved.

They should've recorded your mileage when you dropped your car off. Anything over 1 mile added would validate your suspicions.

That's what I figured, no mileage out recorded on my paperwork I received when I left the shop.

You really can't trust anyone sadly. I'm going to be informing my insurance company who referred me there to see if anything can be done. The people responsible for this should be fired. Just a general question to anyone else who reads this thread, have you ever seen this type of damage to rotors before? If so, what caused it to happen?

If you bed brake pads as per their bedding procedures that's what it will look like if you make the mistake of coming to a full stop, the pads will bake onto the fire hot rotors, that appears to be what happened Not to mention all the rubber that's missing on your rear tires. Sad to hear
