uhaul vs my G37

Bad day for my G lady backed into me in a parking garage. She didn't hear me even after holding down my horn. After she hit me she continued to accelerate more and pushed my car and caused damaged on the driver side quarter panel. Luckily I have a witness and the business owner said she didn't know how to drive because she broke a bush and was going onto the sidewalk.

Should I take my car to an infiniti dealership or a shop in my area with great reviews? I'm assuming both doors will be replaced.

jebus cripes. sorry to see this. sometimes you have to wonder how some people make it through their day without killing themselves or someone else. if she didn't hear you blaring your horn, would she have noticed a mom pushing a baby in a stroller screaming for their lives? you should be proud of yourself for maintaining composure. this incident would have tested my resolve, that's for sure.

as for repairs her insurance will cover it, so take it to wherever you are most comfortable with. and preferably a place with decent loaner cars. which makes the dealer a nice choice.

Sorry to hear that.No you have to pay for insurance when you rent a uhaul. You would have to go thru uhaul with your claim not her though. I believe not 100% sure on this.

What I thought as well. How do you rent out your own property with out any insurance incase something went wrong. Either she provided her own info to uhaul and didn't want to give it to me. I do have a witness if she wants to dispute the claim.

That sucks. I thought you had to at least provide proof of insurance to rent a u-haul

In my experience, insurance companies have an amount they are willing to spend on a loaner, generally enough to get one class above a **** box economy car. Maybe a dealership would be different

I think she has some insurance she didn't want to tell you who though. If not she's a big fool to rent a uhaul with out it. You should've called the police because if she didn't have insurance she would be in big trouble and then you could sue her.

Good luck through all this, really a shame, sounds like a real winner you're dealing with here

Find the best paint and body shop in your area and take it there. It may not be an Infiniti body shop, but quality workmanship should trump taking it to a dealership if they're not the best. You need to immediately find out if she has insurance, that's who'll pay for your rental car. If she doesn't, you'll have to file charges against her for the damage. Please, please say that you called the police when this happened and got a police report?

I called the police but they said if no one was hurt that they wouldn't send a unit out. I contacted u haul and they said that although a person decides not to get insurance (I'm still surprised that you are able to rent a u haul without needing insurance... bizarre! ) each truck has some insurance with it. So I will pass the u haul insurance info to my insurance.

You can rent a Uhaul without insurance, but thats basically saying if you damage it...you pay out of pocket. So i can imagine that Uhaul company saying.. hey guess what? All that G damage is coming out of that Lady's pocket.

^The problem is, she probably doesn't have anything in the her pocket. The judge can make a monitary award, but if the individual doesn't have anything, where do go from there.

Your insurance will end up covering it, provided you have uninsured motorist coverage.

From: Framingham Ma,
Man sorry glad you had a witness, I had a similar issue some years ago where I guy in a pick up back onto the hood of my Eclipse( Just got it from the B shop, body kit and paint). I was sitting in a parking lot waiting for him to park, I was 20 ft behind him. NO reverse lights and I was BLARING my horn and he wound up half way up my hood. Was all like my fault so sorry, then told his INS I rear ended him,
But sound like you wont have this issue, Hope you get it resolved soon and back on the road
