OP, Aktif8 brought up a great and oft overlooked point, your situation seems to be a perfect case for the G37xS, which will get you the sport bumpers, wheels and seats without the stiffer suspension. I don't think the AWD will matter to you much since I believe the AWD has "RWD-bias" so normal driving won't see a big difference (someone please correct me if I'm wrong)

Agreed, if I was in your situation I'd go for the G37xS. Sport package without the stiffer ride. You get the paddle shifters too . I used to own a 06 FX so I can relate.

I would agree with rochester,maybe look at a m37
going from a fx to g37 will definitely be more cramped on the inside for sure.

I agree, its going to be a bit cramped..Before FX I had a Nissan Maxima (which I still miss!)..and if G size is anything like that I think I should be fine. M37 is not in my budget

Here is the info from my sales contact when I was telling him that G37xS sports package does not include the sports suspension on a G37 Journey "sports package":

"WOW, Ok you stumped me on that one. Had to call Infiniti. . Both G37 Journey with Sport Package and G37x Journey with Sport Package have Sport tuned suspension. So they will both ride stiff"

Is that true?

He said he had to call Infiniti to confirm that! I was so going after G37xS..but it looks like my only option is a Infiniti G is the G37 journey with other goodies , minus sports package!

No. He's an idiot. "You stumped me..." Duh-h-h.

The only possible way it could be "sport tuned" is due to the 18" wheels. But they're riding on crappy all-seasons, and it's a square setup at 7.5" wide. Other than that, the suspension is identical to the AWD non-sport. Also, there's no such thing as a "G37x Journey". There's only Journey, AWD and 6MT. If you get the Sport Package on the Journey, you get the same setup as the 6MT, but with a slushbox. If you get the Sport Package on the AWD, then it's appearance-only.

Since you're already OK with getting the last model year the G37xS was offered, why not get a fully loaded and brand new Maxima? They're changing the Max again in 2015. When you say the M37 is out of your range, that means one of your constraints is that you purchase brand new. If you said that somewhere, I missed it.

I typically get new cars and keep them like 10-12 years. First time now trying look to trade in a 2 year old car. I loved my Maxima ..but spoiled by the infiniti customer service...the loaner esp. So trying to stick with infiniti or any others that provided those services..

Sounds like Infiniti may not be right for you. Maybe Lexus would be the more comfortable car.

The FX and G's are pretty sporty in general. The ride will be stiffer in both compared to other brands.

Go for a non-sport G37.

The seats in the sport package are stiff and constrictive (like BMW's terrible seats).

Especially if you're a larger man, it just won't work.

Lexus ES 350 is a very comfortable car, and if you're not really going for sporty and want a family car it would be a great choice. Maybe you can even go for the IS for a bit more sport than the ES.

I own an ES as well as the G, but the G is way more fun to drive!

I am 5'10 and 160lbs. Would I fit in sports seat? The reason I am asking is no dealers in my area has one with sports and so I cant try it out myself..

Thanks,

Thanks,
You should have no problem. I'm currently 5'9 and 170 lbs and no issues. Even when I was upwards of 185 last summer- no issues.

Thanks,
As much as it pains me to say this... At 5'11" and 235 I have no comfort issues with the sport seats, but as I loose weight it does make it easier to get in and out. I currently have all of the bolstering completely deflated.

All,

I have been quoted $35,713 (if I finance via Infiniti) or $36,713 before Tax, title etc. for

2013 Infiniti G37 sedan, Journey model
Color: Graphite shadow with stone leather interior

Options and packages on this car:
-illuminated kick plates
-trunk mat/net/first aid kit
-navigation package
-premium package
-splash guards
-sport package

This includes sports package. Ofcourse removing that is going to get the cost down..but reading through other boards I am seeing it as a Sports not having too much stiff ride compared to non-sports..so I am leaning towards a sports for its breaks/ seats and better tires.

What do you think about the price? Give that its 2013 I was hoping it to be around $34K before TTL..should I push for that?

Thanks
