Selling my G soon :(
Selling my G soon :(
My work is giving me a company car so I won't have any use for it anymore. I will post info on the classified section as soon as I get my car. I don't know if I'm happy or sad...lol. I won't have a car payment but will be driving a crappy chevy car...hmmm maybe I should just keep it.
I will be driving a lot so its impractical with the G. At least the Chevy malibu I won't care about mileage and at 50k miles they will replace it again. So if driving projections are close to estimates it will be every 6 months or so I will be getting something new.
Anyways, it's confirmed I will be getting the car on Monday so I will post my G this evening with pics and all the details hope it sells. Who ever gets this car will be lucky super clean low mileage 2013 car. I think payoff is below 30k.... hmm i have to check.

^you consider keeping it for the long haul (if financially possible)?
Perhaps the loss you'll take from selling a new car so early may be greater than keeping it longer even though you don't use it.
I'm in a vaguely similar situation, bought my car new in April 2013, since Oct 2013 I use mass transit to commute to work and go out, so now I barely use it.
Although having a nice, new car just sitting in the garage 6 days a week may not seem "worth it" now, I figured keeping it in the long-run makes the most sense monetarily (plus I love the car and 6MT is no longer an option in the future)
Either way I hope everything works out well for you

For a 4 cylinder car, it was actually quite good. It changed my impression of American made vehicles. Of course the G has better handling and more power, but if I were considering 4 cylinder vehicles, the Chevy Malibu would be on my list. It is a great commuter car.
The ONLY thing I didn't like about it was when the hazard warning lights were turned on, the interior dome lights would also flicker with it.
My gf had a chevy malibu for a company car. She still bought a new Audi for her personal car. Although she could technically drive it for personal use on weekends and stuff...well, frankly, she didn't want to. She hated driving the Malibu all week for work, the weekend was her time to have fun in the Audi. Also, what is your company's policy on mileage? She could drive the Malibu all she wants, as long as she stays within 200 miles. That means if we wanted to take a trip to Vegas (240 miles), technically she wasn't allowed to. And again, she rather drive her Audi than a Malibu to Vegas. Also, if you get into a wreck in the company vehicle, you have to go through the hassel of dealing with the company and the fleet maintenance plan and fill out all the reports and blah blah blah. If you can afford it, I would rather have my own personal car. Same with cell phones. We have company phones, but both have personal phones. I tend to keep personal away from business.

nothing is free. i'm willing to bet his corporate policy has a deduction for personal usage. i believe my gf was charged $80 per pay period (every 2 weeks) for personal auto miles. However, if you drive over the typical per diem/mile, they still only deduct $80.
For me, my car is an extension of my personality. It is a piece of me.
Well, yeah. I get that, but not everyone does. Priorities are personal, and not everyone has the means, time or convenience to support the hobbies they want to pursue.
I hardly need my car since I travel M-F every week for work and live in the city so going out usually involves a walk. Although for those few days a month that I do need to or decide to drive my car, I am reminded of why I keep it sitting in the garage.
I'd be looking into having them pay for the G or at least part of it. I'm also biased here but the G is such a better vehicle. Anyhow, hope whatever you do makes you happy.
My Co. reimburses $0.56/mi to use a personal car for business (plus tolls), gov't standard, end up with more in my pocket in the end, even after filling the tank. Win-Win IMO.
FAR outweighs using a fleet car (Prius, Cavalier), unless I need to take it to a work site with unpaved access roads, construction, etc.
