Tax laws dictate that the company must either assign a value to your personal use of the company vehicle and report that value to the IRS as a benefit, or the company can charge you fair value for use of the vehicle - and then it isn't taxed.

My company pretty much forces you to take a fleet vehicle if you drive over 12,000 miles a year. it is cheaper to the company than paying the mileage reimbursement. they also dont let you drive it for personal use or have non-employees in the car.
