The Official "find Rex Havoc a Caliper color" thread

Chris aka Rex Havoc seems to be having trouble nailing down a caliper color for his Black X sedan. He's waffling so it's up to us to get his mind right.

My vote goes for burnt copper

Let's see a nice profile, and a wheel close-up, of Rex's car as it currently is, for perspective.

When looking for ideas, you can always search this forum on threads created by JPSBLACKG37. He has a lot of them... and that's almost an understatement. All kinds of photos of custom painted NISSAN big brake calipers. Here's one, for example:

https://www.myg37.com/forums/g37-cou...nge-pearl.html

No denying it, the man has skills. There's a tendency with his work to go with a metallic finish in extremely high gloss. Right or wrong... usually right, IMO.

For me it depends on my car color. I try to keep the tones similar. Blue goes good with yellow, black and red, silver and black, blue and orange, red and burnt orange...man...I could do that all day. Really comes down to personal preference. I'm eventually doing the Akebono upgrade, and I'm gonna use a color that plays well with my wheels and car color.

While mostly true, a white car can work with just about any caliper color, and a black car works with almost anything except white.

Red in my opinion is the best way to go on a black car. Gold is a distant second for me.

oooooOOOOOOOooooohhhhhh burnt copper - I like it.

Was thinking about doing something like this myself. It's a difficult difficult decision to make as there are so many great options out there.

On a black car, I recommend gun-metal.

You guys are the best! I was leaning towards purple haze, then towards ultra violet. Then... Lambo yellow.. But the UV seems pretty darn slick!

JPSBLACKG37 who is doing my paint so that's causing some of my confusion. I'll try and get some pics of the car, current rims and future rims plus the UV as soon as I can. Work is crushing me today but I needed a mental health break.

Go with silver/light-gray decals, then. The white is just too much against the darker paint.

That Ultraviolet color will pop. I like Rochesters gunmetal suggestion too.

I like this color. A lot. But I think it would pop too hard on my car. At least for me.

Or the UV that he and I have been discussing. Very similar to this but tweaked

On this car although I'm thinking I may unmurder the grill, kind of a reverse midnight grill is what I'm thinking.
