What kind of belt did you put on?
Gates. I would not wait. I think the Manual says to change the belt at 30k I believe. Cheap insurance.

Maybe on the premium schedule. I usually don't replace them unless their noisy or the ribs start getting cracks. Guess the easy way to tell would be to spray some belt dressing on and do a WOT run to see if the sound is still there. I suspet it's not the belt though as it doesn't make any noise other than at 6500+ RPM

I noticed the noise after I removed my rear mufflers.

I think the high pitch whistle sounds awesome.
Does kinda sound like a turbo BOV. Its cool unless it's something not getting oil.

Do you have rear muffler delete or anything exhaust related done?

car is bone stock. I don't think the sound is coming from the exhaust. In fact, if i had to guess I would say it's noise from the intake. Do you have a stock intake?

I'm pretty sure from past experiences that it is coming from your exhaust. A loose gasket or seal anywhere in the piping will make that noise when the engine exerts a large amount of air through the exhaust. Sort of like when you whistle, the tiny space will whistle when air is forced through it.

Does sound kinda cool though lol.

Any common spots for that? Gaskets? flex pipe sections?

Granted, I'm under warranty, so I could always just tell the dealership to find it and fix it. knowing them, however, they would likely tell me it's normal and blow me off.

Anyone else have any ideas? I guess an exhaust leak would make sense as others have reported it after doing stuff to their exhaust.

They had no idea. Checked for exhaust leaks. They guess some VVEL noise. Said to bring it back if it gets worse.

My car g37x 2013 auto (all stock) has the same noise.

This is what the Infiniti dealership told me:

" I talked to the technician and he said this is the same issue that we looked at with the Infiniti rep. And he said that is normal operation and nothing to do to fix this. I thought you were talking about a different noise. This noise will happen when at that high of RPMs because the engine isnÂ’t designed to maintain that fast of revolutions."

And they have another 2013 G37 that does the same thing.

I guess this noise is normal.

Also, I found this on youtube.. at 00:04 you can hear the noise..

Yeah I didn't hear anything in that video to be honest. My sound is different but I'm actually trying to make the sound again and take a video but it hasn't done it yet

The stock exhaust it too quiet to hear in the cabin with the windows up, even at full honk. All you hear is the intake. There is some resonance at higher rpm and that's what I hear in the video.
