Left mirror doesn't go out far enough
Left mirror doesn't go out far enough
I have a 2010 G37S sedan, and I cannot get the left mirror out far enough.
I like to adjust my left mirror so that I can't see the side of my car unless I lean way left. It's like what is recommended in various places, such as Car and Driver: How To: Adjust Your Mirrors to Avoid Blind Spots - Feature - Car and Driver
Anyway, on its furthest-out setting--where it starts clicking and rebounding because it has hit its travel limit--I can still see a portion of the side of my car in the left mirror. I've had this car for almost 3 months, and I've had a few closer-than-I-want calls because the mirror doesn't adjust right.
Yes, I've tried adjusting it up and down to see if it can go further out depending on vertical perspective, but it makes no difference.
I assume this is not normal. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or do I need to take it in for warranty service?

I have a 2010 non-sport. The day I bought, it almost 4 years ago, I set the mirrors correctly. When I am driving the mirrors are set just far enough out so I do not see either side of the car.
On my first trip, I stayed in the slow lane for awhile trying to tweak the driver's side mirror so it would show vehicles in the passing lane as soon as they disappeared from the inside mirror. I was unsuccessful and gave up.
I added spot mirrors to both sides to fill in any gaps.
When I was adjusting the mirrors, I never ran out of motion. Is it possible that your mirror bodies might need to be clicked out further?

That aside, I presume by "clicked out" you're talking about how I can manually move the mirror on the arm? I did check that, and it's in the only position it can be in when not folded flat against the car.
