The cheaper Z1 lines have a floating bracket (2 per line) that don't really have attachment points corresponding to stock. The lines themselves are one piece. This is what I have - see https://www.myg37.com/forums/build-t...ml#post4299846 et seq,

Had I the chance to redo it, I'd get the ones with the brass blocks. Closer to stock fit, and easier to be sure the lines don't rub on wide tires when at full lock.

 

That the only the reason I choose more expensive variant.

Can anyone recommend a good product to restore exterior, black plastic trim?

The lower grill mesh has become faded over the years, and now stands out against a new upper mesh grill. I think I might just replace the lower grill at some point, but trying to find a good stop-gap solution. Also considered paint and pastidip to restore the lower mesh, but thinking either would get picked apart by road debris

I remember watching some guy on YouTube who buys junkers and repaints them to resell. He was restoring a Chevy Trailblazer and it had faded black plastic, like on its door steps where people step up to get in. He used some sort of plastic "dressing" which made it look fantastic. Shiny, dark black again. I forgot it's name though, but I remember thinking that's what I'd use on faded plastic in the future.

Meguiars Tire Gel.

I use it on all exterior black plastics on my wife's and kid's cars. Two or three times a year. Works great, is inexpensive and you can pick it up anywhere.

Out of curiosity, are the coupe and sedan steering wheels the same? Considering buying one with alcantara suede since my leather is crumbling.

Every summer I go over the lower grill and inner front wheel liners with a product from Chemical Guys called Barebones Undercarriage Spray: I purchased the bottle in 2011 to use on my 2004.5 G and still have enough to get me through another summer or two. A little goes a long way with this stuff....

 

on g35 forum a few people confirmed that steering wheels on sedan and coupe are the same.
