Unless you are tracking the car, you will never notice the difference from the potenza s-04 to the michelin pss.

And yet the diff between PSS and the OEM Bridgestone RE050A is very obvious.

John, did you decide whether you were going with a camber kit? I'm still working on getting the brakes swapped out on mine and I'm thinking I'll do the springs while I'm at it.

Probably....

If you look at the Tire Rack test I linked, they actually did some instrumented testing, same car, same track, same day...No real difference in wet/dry braking distance, no real difference in slalom times, no real difference in lap times. The only significant advantage the PSS had was skidpad, .98 to .91

It looks like C&D has taken down the actual results, but I don't recall lap times being significantly different.

When I got S04s the price difference was more than $300, last I looked, Michelin had a $70 visa card rebate.

Is the difference in performance worth it to you? For some people yes, others, no. I plan on getting the PSS next, so I can see if they live up to the hype.

The 050A is an older tire design.

No. I haven't decided. Very much on the fence about it, and figure I need a break from modding the car for a couple months. Worse case is that I asses tire wear when the snows go back on. Remember, I don't drive nearly the kind if long miles that you do, so it seems a reasonable risk.

Both tires are designed and positioned for the same market. However, your criteria for relevance must be pretty impressive, so whatever expertise you have here, I suppose I'll defer to it.

Makes sense. I'm not planning any long trips again I don't think. My paint can't take too much more of that. Still need to decide what I'm going to do about that. Touch up paint seems to be the plan right now.

I found the camber kits for a darn good price so I think I'm going to suck it up and make it happen. I'll hold off on a tune though, NZ is definitely calling my name.

Was at the dealership today and spoke to the man that sold me my sedan. The redesigned "G" coupe will have the Q50 front end and an added 2 inches of width on each side of the car starting behind the doors. "Think in terms of the camaro" it will have a flare in the rear with a wider wheel base. No pictures of it yet but the salesman did say that they (the sales people) had a meeting about two weeks ago on the new vehicles coming onto the playing field. He also confirmed that they will be offering a model of the Q60 with the GTR engine inside to go along with the Q50ER. Just thought that this info would be fun to mull over.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to clean the "Infiniti" and Mt. Fuji stitching on the back of the seats?

Somebody hit my damn car last night. It isn't bad, bad enough to **** me off but not bad enough to report anything or get the nose replaced. "Just" scuffs and scratches.... I can't wait to move.

But, on another note, just ordered springs and camber kits. Time for some adjustments again.

Weren't you already looking to have your front end repainted?

Sorry to hear this, Chris. Glad it wasn't worse.

Camber kit, too, eh? Both front and back? That wasn't cheap.

Hey Chris, looks like I have company in the "I can't wait to move" club
Sorry to hear, respect is getting tougher & tougher to find these days. Hope it's not too tough to fix.

I smell a sport bumper conversion coming along soon.

LOL, that's right. I hadn't thought of that. Sport bumper and front chin... that's exactly what he's going to do.
