help with defrost

help with defrost

So its getting pretty cold here in chicago and time to use defrost in the wee morning. Issue is every time i press the wind shield defrost the AC comes on with it even at 90°. I know its as easy as turning off the AC everytime but you know what im saying, any help?

That is normal operation of the front defrost system. The AC is used to remove moisture that fogs up the glass. Without it, visibility may initially be worse. I don't think it's possible to have it default to AC off with the defrost button.

That is normal operation for a vehicle with climate control. The AC takes the humidity out of the air..

I would think all HVAC systems do this. I've never had a car whence upon pressing the defrost button the ac didn't come on. Some cars, like the G, allow one to turn off the compressor. Some don't.
