LOL!

Actually when I do a road trip, I use the rear center arm rest for my cup holder. It also doubles nicely as a divider to keep cr@p from sliding all over the back seat. Other than that, no eating/drinking in the car permitted.

What infiniti (should be ashamed of themselves) calls a cup holder in the MT is actually used for storage of a few minor things - pens, fuel receipts, and other small misc items. Chrome or not, the whole midsection/armrest seems much like an after thought than anything else (in the MT).

I don't eat or drink in the car either, but you still need a place for drive through drinks.

OK I took a picture of the "dents" left since there's no chrome piece. It actually more worn-down to shiny/missing the leather texture than the picture shows. But you can clearly see the dents...This is only two hours with the lid open; And, yes, holding my Big Gulps! But they are certainly there and permanently..and over time it'll probably wear thin then thru. It's like DOT DASH DOT Is that SOS? All this can be prevented by a little chrome bar..probably right where the DASH mark is....

I always keep my rear center armrest down....My rule is NO more than two occupants in the back seat! I hate looking in my reaview and seeing one of my dumba$$ friends' big melon staring back at me I make exceptions if I see these kinda melons tho

I think your best bet is buying one off eBay, unless you brought your car brand spanking new and have a relationship with the dealership i don't think they'll replace it for you. My guess is whoever manufactures the lids for infin just sent a box without the chrome and you ended up with it. Bad luck.

Why is it too much to ask for cup holders and a real e brake in both auto and manual cars.

My '03 Maxima 6MT had both, so I was a little miffed when realizing my next Nissan (Infiniti) doesn't.

Those are very good questions, and yet there's not thing-one we can do about it. At least the OP can swap out his lid.

Maybe the chrome piece is from the G37 coupe and not the sedan?

I have a 2010 premium non sport and I don't have the chrome strip either and the 2 dents are pretty pronounced on mine from the leather wearing.

I'm guessing we'll never figure out why some have it and some don't...Now gotta figure out what to do about it. I'm gonna go trolling some Infiniti dealerships to see if I can find one that matches the interior in my sedan then maybe order the cup holder or find it at a salvage yard. I dont' wann go ghetto-gluing a random chrome piece to it...

Brought my G in for some issues...mentioned the missing chrome strip...and they replaced the cup holder under 4yr/60K Basic Warranty.... I have ~38K miles on her I'm thinking if you have the Sport Package (be it real or appearance) you don't get the chrome piece on the cup holder lid. That being deduced by me, I don't think the dealer knows for sure either....

The chrome bar on the cup holder is for 2011 and up I believe. 2010's won't have it.
