You can always cut the mufflers open and modify the insides

Does anyone have a photo of the internals? Can they be modified from the rear or laparoscopically (without major cutting and welding)? It might be worth a try before going with something like the TopSpeed...

Decided to take everyone's advice and just delete both mufflers, and replace them with straight pipes...sounds awesome, no rasp, but it is louder.

Idk how it is for the sedan but when I tried it on the couple muffler, cutting and welding was required. They do this all the time over on the bimmer forums to get the PE exhaust sound.

the muffler delete sounds really good. another option would be to replace the resonators with a smaller high flow pair like vibrant makes. thats what i did to my sedan when i was dissapointed by the sound of the tanabes. sounds similar to the muffler delete.

As far as exhaust cut outs go, I doubt you'll find someone on here who has done them, and likely Porsche uses an electronic flap within the muffler like the dynomax vts (which is pressure controlled), I don't think real cut outs would be allowed on a factory car since they are theoretically "off road/racing use only.". Ive thought about putting cut outs on everything from my 7.5l to my 3.7 in the g, funny thing is I never get around to it, maybe the VT Muffler and hfc would be a nice compromise between the delete and stock.
