Magnaflow Flex Pipe Busted

I bought a magnaflow exhaust 16820 pretty much exactly 2 years ago, the flex pipe is leaking on both sides and super loud and ugly.

Has anyone just replaced the flex pipe without purchasing a brand new system?

Can a muffler shop fix this or should I even try to take it to one? It seems rusted at both sides at the mesh parts.

Thx!
Richard

Any decent exhaust shop should be able to get a new flex pipe put in for pretty cheap.

I tried Meineke and they wanted $680 to replace and re-weld on the flex pipes. That was with a 10% coupon, so I guess I got that going for me

I think I'm going to try a repair kit.

Don't go to one of the chain places, do you have any smaller exhaust shops around you?

I ended up going to Advance Auto parts and spent like 50 bucks in exhaust tape, host clamps and a repair kit (basically a small roll of tin) for both sides...took about 30 minutes to put on, seems pretty solid and now my baby purrs again... I can't help by step on it simply to hear the roar I missed so much!

Wtf. I got a custom X-pipe built and resonated mid pipes WITH new flex pipes, all 2.5 inch piping to pair up to my Top Speed mufflers for 576 out the door at a local shop with a stellar reputation.
