Need some help, CEL, car stalling

I was washing my car today, and as soon as i got out and was getting rdy to dry the car, the car rpm started fluctuate and the car felt very very weird, rpm was above 1000 the whole time and it kept on feeling like the car was about to stall. i was worried cuz this happened to me before when i was washing my car and the MAF got wet and the check engine light came on , but the next morning it was gone, and everything was normal.
While i was looking around the engine bay i realized that the Injen intake filter that i have was off the pipe and i ve been driving like that for 2 month !!!!! now i have no idea what to do, i waited for the car to dry then do the ecu reset to get the CEL removed but it was still there, and the car still feels weird.. i'm really worried wat the dealership are gona say and quote me. any idea you guys

thanks

Again??? Man that's crazy. Give it some time to dry off with the engine off. If the engine still acts weird then you may have a problem.

First of all, scan the car for codes. Post the code and let's go from there.

its a bit late for that took it to the dealership and my service adviser told me it could be the throttle body and he said the right hand side t.b is $1800 without labor charges, so im just hoping its not that and just the maf. he'll get back to me tomorrow hopefully with good news. i ll keep u updated and ill ask him to print out the codes for me so i can post it up.

if they are charging you 1800 for the throttle body run!!! you can find them online for a few hundred and do it yourself

well lets see what happened's by tomorrow, he's giving me a call in the morning so if it is the throttle body, ill probably end up ordering it online, but i don't know about doing it my self part, i'm a bit of a noobi if it wasn't for my poor intake installation none of this would have happened

Just got a call from the dealership, and apparently both my MAF are shot and need to be replaced, they also need to replace the air ducting. He gave me a quote of $1235 for 2 MAF sensors + Air Ducting + Throttle body cleaning + Minor service + Both wiper blades + Labor. He also said there might be something wrong with my throttle body, they're going to look at it while cleaning them but he said most probably they might have to change them that's another $3k on top

hi guys - I have something similar going on. Here's the history:

- for a few weeks now, the "VDC off" and "SLIP" lights have been coming on. I learned today that this is likely low brake fluid.

- now last weekend, after a short drive, the car would start up but only to die within 1/2 second of running. at that point, check engine light on along with all other idiot lights. After letting if sit for a few hours, it would start up ok. I was afraid to drive it for fear of getting stranded. I'm ready to take to dealer but wondering if this is something simple like the MAF needs drying or replacing?

- should I buy a code reader? does it matter what type I buy or for most easy stuff any one will do?

(edit) - so any chance that these 2 things be related? for example, does the engine shut down if brake fluid to low? I doubt it but somehow I think these could be related.

Car: 2009 G37x with 80KM on the clock. Otherwise been perfect car...
