Yeah, I live in NYC, and the traffic is the biggest con for me. I've had a daily 240 that would be a pain to drive. But Honestly, if the car is i great condition, and I'm getting a good deal, and I'll jump on it. Ill keep you guys posted!

I did the exact same switch a couple of weeks back (well... almost). Traded my '08 5AT coupe for a '11 7AT sedan. It's only been two weeks but so far I'm loving it.

Things that I miss from the '08 coupe:
1. Much better looks.
2. Awesome 5AT. Even though it was an AT the 5 speed always responded well.
3. Stiff suspension = awesome handling (while not everyone likes the stiff sports suspension I loved it... personal taste).
4. 19" rims (sports package).

Things that I like in my '11 sedan:
1. The extra doors and bigger trunk space.
2. Easily better gas mileage. With the 5AT I was lucky if I got 16-17 (50/50 mixed driving). The sedan is showing 19 (exact same driving style and route).
3. Love the bluetooth audio so far. Very convenient. I think you need navi for this option.
4. No more huge blind spot (especially on the driver side). This really depends on driving position and height.
5. Love the option in the sedan where the seat moves back and steering wheel moves up when you open the door to get out.

Overall I think the sedan is a lot more practical without compromising on the performance of the G. This is just my opinion. Hope this helps you in making your decision.

It's in the settings menu, your service manual should give you the exact directions. Believe it's under comfort settings.

 

Manual trannies are like swimming pools. When someone wants one, they will essentially pay more, but many others will simply walk away because either they do not want the hassle. I see alot of the G35/7 Sport models with manuals on dealer lots here in Socal that are not moving.

However, the utility of a sedan is far greater. Like others have mentioned, it really comes down to what you need and what you feel you can live with.

I'm in sales and drive people around for a living, so both a coupe & 6MT are really not practical options for me.

 

I think it's also the default when you reset your ECU, when I disconnected the battery it did the seat back/wheel up feature which I hadn't set it previously.

 

coming from an ower of 2 7at sedans....I searched long and hard for a 6mt sedan in the state of florida and surronding and only came across 2. 1 was an 09 w high miles and the other was 12 w only 6k miles but they also were asking about 2k over market value bc they knew how rare they are around here (Tampa). with that being said....I REALLY wish I could have found a 6mt...the 7at is just too slugish and at times unresponsive. feel like you have no control over the car until the tranny and engine finally click together and you start moving. I have the sport model as well and even w the paddles its just not the same. My only hope at this time is once im done upgrading..which will hopefully be within the next 3-4 months..an uprev tune will drastically help these issues im finding now. anyway...if I were you id trade the oldie in...best of luck either way

 

I don't know about G37S sedan with 6MT, but for my '08 G35S 6MT, this is not available. They are only available with AT.

I live in Los Angeles and I my 6MT is my daily. I have no problem with it, though my commute is not heavy in traffic.

Another thing to consider is that do you want the payment. Its either going to be an increase in monthly payment or same payment but longer until you paid it off.

Me personally hates car payment, cause you borrowing money against interest, to buy something that depreciates as you are paying it off. Just something to think about on the money side of the decision.

On the side, I do wish my 6MT comes with about 10-15mm lower and stiffer suspension from factory. But that's a problem that will be fixed for less than $1500 ... LOL

 

They both have the same sport suspension, brakes, steering and engine. All your getting is a useful backseat and trunk, but otherwise the driving experience should be identical.

As much as I enjoy my 6MT each and every day, I don't think you're trading up. You're going sideways.
