VDC switch on 2013 G37S

So I've noticed the VDC still kicks on when turning it off. After searching I found the best way to disable it is to wire in a switch on the YAW sensor. From the threads I've read it always says to cut the orange wire. That's where it got weird.

My 2013 G37S 6MT sedan doesn't have an orange wire connected to the YAW sensor and from pictures I saw it also has 2 less wires.

I ended up cutting and adding the switch to the black ground wire. It works perfect. I also installed the switch into the center console storage. ABS is still retained and only 1 light shows up on the cluster when you switch it off.

Only con to this is you have to turn off your car and restart it to get the light to go away.

Just wanted to share the info I got from doing this hands on for anyone that's planning on doing this. I also take no responsibility for any damages or someone wrecking their car.

Don't mind the mess, this is right after I drilled the hole... If you look closely u can see 2 plugs right next to the switch, these are for the cars that had the A/V inputs. Since my car didn't have the A/V inputs there's a plate that covers the holes... I drilled out the middle hole and cut the plate in half so i could screw the plate back on while clearing the switch.

Very interesting -- I take off VDC now and then when Im on my regular route home, there's a couple turns I can get loose on and I learned their limits with VDC on but I've never had it intrude when off.

I know some other traction controls are shut off in steps but even sideways in wet conditions its never once grabbed at a wheel. Same car, too -13 6mt sedan

It takes quite a bit for the VDC to kick back on when you switch it off, however I do occasionally drift the car and noticed it does come back on when I do. I plan on doing couple small drift days and lapping days with this car. I also have a S14 thats my main drift car, well after I finish building it haha.

I thought you could turn it off by pressing the switch for about a minute or so.

I hope I'm not on the same road as you when you do this.

I would be interested to see, if this were done on a car with the 7AT, would it resolve some of the laggy shifting?

Ive always wondered if some of the other systems were contributing to the confusion the tranny sometimes has. Yaw sensor being one of them.

Is the Yaw Sensor located under the driver seat?

it's under the shift plate trim. remove that trim, then remove the heated seats switches trim. it's being held by 2 bolts.

Here is my switch. (Sorry for the pic.)
Now I can drift.
But one thing bothers me - why, when the sensor is disabled, the transmission downshifts when going downhill?

Oh so that's what that was! When I switched to an MT center console I couldn't figure out what it did. Haha

So I just disconnected my YAW sensor and took my car on a stroll to do the fun stuff like a burn out. I was then harshly disappointed when my revolutions were still limited while flooring the gas and holding the break. Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone have a clue to what it could be?

The only way to do a burn out is to remove the fuse for the rear brakes. Its located inside the drive side footwell, STOP LAMP is the name.
