Not sure if they can mask off certain areas or remove a portion of it after the dip, good question. As far as heat, the wheel he showed me seemed very solid, I think they'd hold up very well w/ heat and road salts, grime, etc.

Cool. I'm curious about what the apparent differences are between the Sport and non-Sport sways; thickness, design, weight, whatever. My guess is that they are identical design, but the sport sways are 1mm or 2mm thicker.

Looking good blnewt! I've been talking to some "hydro" people to get some pieces done for my G for a few weeks now. This really has pushed me to get it done faster now.

Now with that vid you posted I'm a little torn. Should I DIY or just pay for the professional job. Decisions, decisions.

I have hot and cold feelings about carbon fiber in general, but that looks GOOD! Fits your car REALLY well! And the process...it's fascinating!

Thanks Red, If the pieces are small trim pieces a DIY might work out, pieces like spoilers & wheels are probably best left to the shop. The prices were too good for me to consider DIY but may be different in your area.

What pieces are you wanting done?

Thanks a lot ZenZ, IMO the carbon is best in small areas, not really liking it for full hoods, trunks, etc, but in small doses I think it adds a nice contrast.
I'm going to try one of the mirror covers tinted in Nightshades today to see if it won't be quite as loud, and blend better w/ the grill & tail valance.

Yeah i agree with you, leave the big pieces to the pros. All the pieces i want dipped are managable sizewise. The front and rear logos and the navigation bezel (as mine got messed up by a febreeze air freshener). Seems like it could be a fun diy.

You did all that today? Impressive.

And a huge improvement. Not that this matters, but now I approve.

Are you going to unwrap the grille and have it dipped now? I'm guessing you really, really want to.

Thanks guys, the difference was pretty dramatic, and I think the nightshades masks the more artificial look that it had when it was the true lighter shade. It looks much more like a real carbon fiber part, and also has a more translucent glow about it now (if that makes sense).
Yep John, that grill may be on my short list

Indeed. I believe you've evolved from PlastiDip, to vinyl wrap, to vinyl dipping... and there's no going back. With the mirrors and front lip dipped and shaded, it's probably all you can do to drop everything and have the front grille looking the same ASAP.

Wow, that's a huge difference--gives it a much more realistic look.
