+1 looks great. Good to know it was done on long island, sometimes hard to find good shops.

Here is my DIY for a gloss black grille with chrome emblem.

I tackled excessive grille bling the same way. Here are before and after shots (yes, the car still has temp tags!):

It was straightforward and cost only $15 in rattle cans (remove grille, sand, clean, prime, paint, clear, reinstall). The window trim is next!

painting it urself and getting it professionally done by a shop is night and day difference, will cost more getting it painted at a shop but so worth it if you care about quality, if not you can always dip it

I had my roof wrapped for 250. Grill def should be done for 75 or less.

That's completely true. However, the after pic here is still a whole lot better than the before pic.

I do care about quality and am entirely satisfied with the results. A professional job might look a little better, but it would not, could not, be a night and day difference.

Thanks! It is a night and day difference.

No one should be discouraged from trying any of the methods discussed in this and other threads. There is virtually no cost or skill barrier to entry, and if it turns out poorly, then just strip it and try again or spend a few hundred bucks for a professional job.
