Outside Temp

Anyone know where the temp sensor is located? I'm really doubting the accuracy of this feature as there is no way I hit the displayed temperature. It was parked in a lot for about 45 minutes but it never gets that hot in So Cal!

I live in So-Cal, and it can get sometimes up to 110 during summer.

The temperature displayed in my car is somtimes a few degrees higher than it actually is. I always do my comparisions at this intersection near my house where the "actual" outside temperature is displayed.

Through my many observation, the car sensor can be off by a little as 2 degrees and no higher than 8 degrees.

if the car is sitting in the sunlight it always going to read higher till you start moving
and has to chance to reflect close to the temp it should be..

My coupe is frequently off by 20 degrees or more when I first get in the car in the summer. Sometimes higher, more often though much lower. I don't think it's supposed to be that bad, but not worth it to me to take to the dealer. Afraid they will mess something else up or put swirls on the car etc.

i think its reads ambient air temp thru the intakes (MAF sensor) so if you let it sit in the sun you can get some pretty crazy temps

The sensor is located behind the grille, at the bottom of the AC condenser (radiator) right in the middle. You can get to it by taking off the bottom engine shield, it's attached with a connector so changing it is easy.

Found a few pics, can be useful; maybe we can think about relocating it? The valley is getting too warm!

Depends on where you are in SoCal. It was 101 here in Temecula today. In frickin' MAY!

My dash temp was reading 110 for a minute but when I got moving it dropped to 100, which is pretty damn close to the actual of 101.

Even tho the hot weather was a few months back, its funny how you guys in CA complain about the weather when its only 100 degrees. Here in Vegas even till the mid September we had 110. In August we hit the highest ever 117 and inside the car it would show 130

It gets dang hot here doesn't it? The great thing is this time of year though where we are in the 70's. Theres about 9 months I love the weather here!

Oh and as far as your temps, when your car is sitting your start reading temps off the car, you really have to be moving to get the air flow in order for it to be half way acurate. Once a car is hot and you park it you will see very high temps!
