When I bought my 09 G the dealership took care of doing the paperwork for the title, like most do, when I received the title in the mail it said that my car was a 2009 Infiniti G35X. My question is should I have the dealership fix it? I've been looking at trading my G in for a newer one for the past few weeks and wasn't sure if another dealership would give me grief over a clerical mistake. When I got the title at first I took it back to the dealership I bought it from and they said that it wouldn't matter because any dealership would know that there weren't and G35's made in 2009. And yes I know for a fact that I have a G37 and not a G35. Any thoughts?

 

I think you should be ok. Anyone can just lookup your VIN # if they have concerns.

 

While the VIN's may match, it may raise flags/issues when the vehicle is next reregistered with the CORRECT model name. The dealer screwed up, have them facilitate getting a title with correct information on it.

 

I agree, get it fixed so you will be sure there will be no pita's later.

 

Its going to look like the car was a chop shop wash. You need to get this fixed especially if you are in a liberal state. California for one likes to send CHP to car shows to run vins with part numbers to find "stolen" parts. That would be a bad day for you even though your car is all yours... might look differently to a cop.

Get the title corrected. You paid a title fee. the least they can do is give you a correct one
