Getting tints today... stop me

So I like to switch cars once a year and every car that I get has to have tinted windows. I usually go with 30-35% tints and most of my cars are black. I get the tints mostly for blocking the sun but it does add appeal to the car from the outside. The tint guy charges $200 for the job, it's machine cut, comes with lifetime warranty and they get it done in less than 2 hours.

Tell me if you are a tint freak like me and if not, then try to convince me to not get them and save the $200.

Also, what % tint would you go with on a black/black car?

Thanks!

I'm with you. every car has to be tinted even if I don't keep very long. I had a horrible experience with a shop that had good reviews that charged less than $200 for a tint job, so I paid $375 (including windshield) for the G! ouch haha

15% is good on a white car, but on black i prefer 30%. the shop i go to in ohio does a fantastic job. between me and my friends, i've sent him over 15 cars and it's been good every single time. they even do remote start installation and audio stuff.

I have 20% this time. I had 35% last time. (both OB G's - see garage).
To be honest, looking out, during the day, I can't tell much of a difference. Looking in it's noticeably darker. Better protection from the sun and from the eyes of would-be thieves.

I've got solar guard tints on my G. 50% all around on mine though. I'm still loving them over a year later. It's always my first mod.

I'm in Mason and have used Solar Tint for over 20 years with great results.

Auto Window Tinting & Car Tint Cincinnati & Fairfield, OH @ Solar Tint

I went with 35% all around and 20% on the back. With a black interior it dark enough without looking tacky for me.

You'd get burned alive in Texas without tint. Lucky for me all my car has came with tint. And all my cars are required to be tint as well. 200$ is a well reasonable price. If you were local to me I have a guy who does it at the dealership and does it for cheaper on the side.

So the Solar Tint company uses 3M brand film which I have heard is great quality. it is also very cheap for the money and you can also find the tint film at a local auto shop. I personally prefer machine cut and have professionals do it rather than hand cut and doing it myself.

I have a black/black '13 sedan with 15% llumar all the way around -- no tint on the windshield. For the 2 days I drove the car without tint (coming from my last car that had 15% as well), it felt like i was in a fishbowl.

I always have to have tinted windows, it's a must in FL. Had to drive around a whole week without tint since I had to wait til my next day off the following week. Worst driving time of my life haha.

I also have to have 5% all the way around including entire windshield.

Isn't more connected to the environment without having to roll down the windows the better? Visibility on new cars are already bad enough, no need to put one more layer. Who wants a tinted camera lens?
