Carbon Signal Spec IN Front Lip

Anybody here have this front lip from Carbon Signal? I'd like to see more pictures, and read opinions from people who've installed this.

I'll be the first to admit this freely... I don't like front lips on cars. For the most part, they look childish and tacky (IMO), and I only grudgingly appreciate the OEM Sport Sedan front chin, but still don't want it. However, a thread came up recently about the Carbon Signal rear defuser for the 07-09 Sedan, which in turn make me go look at Carbon Signal's website for the first time.

This Spec IN lip really appeals to me. As a first impression, it looks really clean, and not at all obnoxious or ricey. Instead of a "lip", it looks more like a trim piece, which somehow works for me.

Anyone? Infiniti - *CarbonSignal Automotive

Here's the same picture, cropped and blown up, gamma corrected for shadow to maybe get a different perspective.

Not sure how I feel about the swept-up little wings that wrap around the corner. But I really like the "clip" design in the middle. Also not digging the CF, but that can be painted proper, I'm sure.

And what the heck is in the inside corners of the fog lights? What is that piece?

Anyone?

It does look nice in my opinion. But carbon signals prices are insane , they posted up a thread a while back with their prices listed and it was not worth it for a replica lip.

$375. Not a replica of anything I'm aware of.

Beats me. Only just now stumbled across it.

And on another front, what is that trim piece on the inside of the fog lights? I really want to know more about this. Who makes it? Where do I pick it up?

Or am I just not interpreting this picture properly, where that's just custom paint (or vinyl)? For perspective, here's that picture again right above a picture of the front end of my Sport Sedan:

Interesting touch on the fog housing, looks like a vinyl extension. The squared-up look to the fogs seems to blend better w/ the rest of the straight lines going on in the bumper area. That would be a simple DIY and for the time spent would change the look quite a bit IMO.

I know you're not a fan of the CF, but such a small trim piece looks pretty good IMO, especially on your white G. I almost think the contrast would look better than paint matched.

I wasn't aware either, but it is. Apparently it's a ripoff of Access Evolution's part. FYI. It is a good looking part though.

That front lip does seem worth the buy.
I'm also wondering if that would even fit the non-S model. If it will, how weird would it look

Rochester it looks like it could be vinyl, the fog trim looks more of a faded black than that other piece you are talking about. Would you do it? if it is just vinyl wrap?

I say buy it. It looks real good. It's a nice touch, but not too in your face/boy racer. I think being lowered and having aftermarket wheels is almost required for a piece like this though.

Also what color you thinking about getting it painted? It could get lost if you color match it to your car. Although I have somewhat color matched wheels, so you probably shouldn't take contrast advice from me.

Exactly what I was thinking. And to be more precise, I'd like that trim to match the gentle curve of the lower grille. If you study the pic a bit, you'll see the lines are close, but not exactly spot-on.

As a trim piece, you're right. It might just be acceptable in CF.

Yes. Yes I would. Thinking... thinking...

Simple black, or maybe subtle metallic black. I've got tentative plans for the 4 inside slats on the grille in the same, so that would look good matched, IMO.

However, I'm just exploring. God knows that when it comes to mods, I have a somewhat glacial approach.

Good heads-up, BB.

While similar, I don't think I'd go so far as to call it a "replica". But yes, the lines are very similar.

...which is apparently based on this design for the 370:

I like it, but feel like the car really looks best lowered for that style of lip. I know your adamant about leaving your car at stock height. I've got the OEM lip and also have no plans to lower. I really like it and it's grown on me a lot, but sometimes it looks a bit too aggressive at the stock height.

It looks good on the uneven slopped drive I have in front of my house, but in the parking lot on perfectly level ground the front sits pretty high.

You can tell in this picture my front suspension is loaded by looking at the front wheel vs wheel well:

you can see how high it actually is on flat ground in this pic:
