G37 13.09 @ 106 mph and SVT guys saying its got Nitrous

Hi all.

First Post since found this G37 video on a Mustang Forum, and SVT guys can't believe a G37 can run 13.0 without nitrous. Obviously, not aware how strong the 3.7 liter is

That car is not trapping 106 in full stock form. Not even close. More like 100-101mph.

Maybe it is bone stock with racing fuel in it? 13.09 from a stock G37 is pretty damn fast.

However, lighter wheels/tires, intake, exhaust, and a tune... totally believable.

Interesting. Road & Track magazine tested a G37 Sport model in the May 2010 issue and clocked the quarter mile at 13.6 sec @ 105.6 mph. I don't have that issue any longer; the numbers are reported in their Road Test Summary at the back of the current issue. However, I think it's safe to assume that they tested a bone stock car. From that, it's not unreasonable to think that the car referenced in this video may have achieved this performance.

Even though 13.09@106.3 is a bit of a stretch in stock form in normal conditions, but your statement is simply dead wrong. Just a bit research on your own car will be suffice. With the shorter geared 7AT it is entirely possible to be faster than the 6MT in the test.

Not surprising, the acceleration times for the brawnier G37 S are markedly improved over the less-powerful, five-speed G35 S. Zero to 60 now takes only 5.0 sec, with the quarter-mile obliterated in just 13.5 at 105.3 mph.

if he has short gears in the rear end that would go a long way to the impressive numbers. a set of sticky tires and a few bolt ons with a tune...who knows? could be possible i suppose.
