I don't see this as a long shot at all for several reasons.

1) This is a completely base model, all of the extra electronics are simply added weight.
2) Sport models are heavier due to their larger brake calipers, rotors etc... all having extra weight
3) no spare is again weight taken off
4) That seemed to me like a perfect launch, very smooth, good track conditions and maybe a better set of tires on there.

Does not seem like a long shot. Just seems like a combination of good moves to get cars ready for the track.

Good point.
Wow, the lack of knowledge about drag strips amongst the G community is pretty low. Have you ever heard of DA? It's a way for all tracks to be put on a level playing field. The NHRA uses it.

It's common knowledge that every 100lbs of weight reduction results in approximately .1 seconds off the ET. That car would have needed 500-600lbs of weight reduction to hit that number they hit.

That base model car that made that run weighs only 81lbs less than a Sport model.

Read that slowly and out loud. Use an Austrian accent.

How about anybody who's never had their G on a drag strip bow out of this discussion quietly. You are waxing theoretical BS on something that you've read in a magazine or heard someone else say and your ignorance is showing. It's alright if you don't know anything but stop posting as if you do.

How about those who have had their G on a track post time slips or videos along with conditions and mods on the car. Facts trump BS 7 days a week.

Anyone who's saying this isn't legit, what time did YOU post to have a reason to say it ain't so? Those who are saying its a realistic time, what time did YOU post that says this is possible?

How about people lighten up and stop taking this youtube video so seriously?

Barring that, move it to the Motorsports/Track forum where people can delight in their drag racing details.

I live close to that track, I kept running 13.9 with a really bad launch.
They do sell race fuel there, with it and possibly the Intake filters out, i can see it happening.

I've ran my G a couple times and am very familiar to the track. I also run a consistent 11.9 in my 06 GTO and could only pull a 13.8 in the G. Track was a very hot day and the first time running that car at the track. I would bet with better weather I could get to a mid 13 and with some weight reduction maybe a 13.4. That 13.0 was a really good time and may be hard to believe, but who cares.

frankly the way rentals are often driven, that time wouldn't surprise me. These cars do adapt to the way we drive them as you all should know.

I think my loaner I had recently would get DAMN close to that time.. that car was a fricken rocket compared to mine. I took it to test drive an 09 CTS-V with my dad and the G did not feel (from the seat of my pants) a terrible amount slower.

I've only taken my car (w/7AT) to the track twice, but I couldn't beat a 13.6 and was running between that and 13.8 at night the both times I was there.

I think most stock auto G's are right around that. Might be a factory freak if no sneeky pete.
