Update: After reading the last couple posts about traveling a little further I opened my search up to 200 miles. Yesterday I drove 3 hrs down to Oregon with my bro in law and picked up a 2010 6mt, 1 owner, 31k miles, no accidents, no mods (not even tinted windows) in black/black for 27k. I got a solid price on my trade which sealed the deal.

I had a grin, ear to ear the entire drive back.

The tech and sport package is sweet! Best of all being back in a manual is undescribeable. Down shifting to 3rd, then 2nd before accelerating hard through the turn is priceless.

The wifey will need to learn how to drive a stick on another car.

I'm so happy with my purchase. Again Ty all for all the great advice, w/o it I may have just settled.

I look forward to being a member on this forum.

I must say, this post gave me a big smile.

Well done, Seafoo. Very well done.

Thanks!

I'm not much of a picture person but here are a couple pics snapped tonight on my Iphone. Not even sure that I attached them to this thread right.

Gotta love a matching watch and clock.

Look at that... you got the Midnight Grille on your car. Nice.

Also got the sport front lip, which means your car probably has the aero package from the factory (is your rear spoiler body colored or chrome?). Got an even better deal than you thought!

Nice watch, love the Omega's

OP, you'll find as you hang out here that people call the Sport Sedan front lip a "chin", because it juts out, but doesn't compromise front end clearance.

Given the chin, and the trunk-lid duckbill spoiler, I'd hazard a guess that the previous owner configured a fully optioned 6MT. Not that there are a whole lot of options to add to that particular car, but the chin, spoiler and midnight grille are three of them. I wouldn't be surprised if you also had illuminated door sills and accent lighting.

And for a 2010 model, that would be about it, AFAIK.

Thanks for helping a newbie determine what I just bought, lol

I was under the impression that all the 6mt's were Sports and that all Sports came with the more aggressive front lip, side skirts - being the Aero package. I love the midnight grille, I was going to do this regardless.

Yes it has a black duck bill and an illuminated door sills. Looks like I may have unknowingly gotten the full meal deal.

I'm making an appt for a 35% tint today. it's hard to work when all I want to do is mess around with the ride!

The Sport Package gives you the slightly more prominent side-skirts, but you can really only tell if you're side-by-side with a non-sport. However, the chin and duckbill are totally optional. As I was guessing, previous owner checked off all the extras. Nice for you, eh?

There's some confusion (thank you, Infiniti) with the manual transmission G37. You see, the 6MT is a separate sub-model entirely. You don't have a Sport/Premium/Nav with a manual transmission. You have a 6MT. Visuals and gadgets are nice to have, as are the Sport leather seating, but the real goodies in the 6MT Sedan are for the driver:
  • Sport tuned steering
  • Sport suspension (thicker sways)
  • Unnecessarily but delightfully huge sport brakes
  • Staggered rims (18x7.5" front, 18x8.5" rear)
  • Limited Slip rear diff
  • 6MT (obviously)

And now that you're got your new 6MT, here is your very first mod:

Best $20 you'll ever spend on the car.

Well now.... while you're at the tint shop, give this idea some consideration. Go look at the rear bumper on your car, and observe the sculpted lower section that gently wraps around the edges. That's the rear diffuser section of the bumper, except that there's no actual diffuser there, just an indented section of the polyurethane. Now you could go and buy a plastic or carbon fiber diffuser and mount it, but that can be expensive, and visually busy, IMO. However, on a glossy black car, imagine how nice that area would look if it were simply vinyl-wrapped in flat black, for a subtle contrast.

Just a thought. And one that can set your car apart from every other G37 in your area, without being obnoxious.
