I'm also in NY, although Upstate didn't get hit as bad as NYC and LI. Either way, we got over 12" in less than a single day of snowfall, and it was a mess. As for driving the G37... it was the one day of the year where my RWD 6MT was totally useless, regardless of snow tires. OK, maybe two days, back-2-back.

Fortunately, the other 363 days of the year continue to validate my choice in a way an AWD, automatic G never could.

Sure was pretty, though. I took this video just driving around my neighborhood yesterday:

I was really surprised at how the car was in the snow...i put my winter rims on there which have bridgestone Blizzaks on them so i was sure i wouldn't get stuck...and man this car is insane in the snow lol...it goes straight and does not get stuck. I was berried in about 2.5 ft of snow and was able to drive straight out. Drifting was fun and seemed controlled.

I think the AWD is definitely worth having especially if you live in snow prone states.

daonlyillwiz: Whats the spec of your wheel/tire setup? Those are 18's I'm guessing, whats the tire demensions?

Reason I'm asking is I've got an X-non sport too, and don't plan on dropping it. Your setup looks nice.

^^How much is the speedometer error at say 60 mph? You're running a slightly smaller wheel diameter than stock. Planning on running wider tires on those wheels (9")?

With those sizes he's running.

When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 58.1mph (93.5km/h): 3.2% slower.

according to the trusty wheel calculator.

Rochester Winter
We received 34cm of snow the same day. Once I was able to get of the court we live on, (they always clear the snow on courts near last ) I had no problems driving around at all that day. Lots of people people were ditching their vehicles though.
Let this be an ad for Michelin X-Ice tires
