Weird Noise at WOT!

When I floor my car I had my windows down and after 5000RM it has this weird metallic wind/whistle noise, idk what is that I test drove one of my coleague's 2013 G37 same brand new about 1050 Miles on it he didn have the noise... but I didn't floor it I felt bad maybe he wouldn't like it... Anyone knows why is my car doing that Thx.

Car drives perfectly fine and is totally normal on the road nothing wrong with it except for that noise idk maybe it's normal!!??!?!?

I've noticed it too. It's almost like the coffee bean can noise others have posted about when they start the car up.

Mine has a metallic rattle right at start up but only around 1500rpm, something down around the exhaust in the area where the mufflers meet the resonator pipes.
Not sure what yours could be TopBeam, does it happen all the time at 5k rpm or only when cold? Seems like the most common culprit for stuff like this is the heat shields around the cats.

I get the same sound when i floor it sometimes also. I just chalk it up to the Tanabe exhaust at WOT.

I've noticed this as well, and from other threads on these forums, it's the VVEL kicking in.

Yeah I believe every G does that. I have it too, it's like this hissing noise when it shifts.

I have it too, though i would not describe it as metallic, nor does it sound like the startup nose we hear. It's more of a pneumatic sound... Air wooshing thorough an orifice.

^^ is the best description, took my 09 in for TSB and got a 2011 loaner and while my 09 does not make this sound the 11 definitely had this whistle sound at WOT.
The car didnt feel like anything was wrong, perhaps a design change allowing air to flow through something.

Make sure the under support bracket is on and right mine was left undone and had to lift the car and tighten it.

I have this in my 13 g37x. I didn't worry too much, but my brother mentioned it when I let him beat on it for a bit today. It only happens when you floor it. I have about 1500 miles.

At least it's not engine knock like some of the 07, 08 TL-S's.
