Pikes Peak in your G? Anyone? (pic included)

Anyone else here driven their G to the summit of Pikes Peak? We did in September, was 31f that day. Had picked up the car with 2xx miles on it 8 days earlier and did the break-in before stressing it.

Pic to start with:

I won't drive my G on a dirt road ever. Nice photo though and it is an amazing place! You kind of feel like you are at the top of the world up there.

All asphalt until the last 200-300ft. No idea how the pic would look but once on a large screen it was nice.

The downhill run from Pikes Peak is a killer on the tranny and brakes. How did they hold up? I went up to 12,000 and then turned around, my wife was scared I was going to drive off the edge. (no way, but it's scary looking down)

I used the paddle shifters most of the way down, when we hit the mandatory brake check they infrared thermometer'd the front rotors at 170. I guess I was doing it right. My wife was cool with it, but if there was nothing coming I kind of stayed towards the left wheel on the centerline going up.

I did like the hotchkis f/r sways , the FSTB and the new potenza re970a/s tires on the drive.

We also drove the Rockies from Denver to the Utah line and back, and Mt. Evans, although the last couple miles was closed due to 'road damage'. RMNP was awesome.

I did see a couple of cars that had them on the roof. Would have been nice and I did think about it about the time we started up. There's always next time.
