Can't get a great launch?

So I have been playing with my new '09 37x (no racing, just fun), and one thing I can't seem to do is get a good launch from the line. I have tried power breaking a couple of times now and the engine seems to cut out around 2-2.5k rpms, which turns into a pretty pedestrian launch. Anyone else have trouble getting the revs up in the 3s while launching?

Yes I have the 7AT, and I have tried once with the VDC off with similar results.

My car is stock rwd 7at. Vdc off. Ds mode. Break launch around 1500-2000 and hit 13.5 at best with consistent 13.6. Seemed fine launching at that rpm. Haven't tried 3k and may have had Better results of I did. We're you on ds mode?

I don't think I have tried the launch in DS, just been using D; I will have to try it out. Does DS allow you to hit higher rpms before shifting? I haven't played around with it too much yet...

Not sure if it makes a difference between launching on ds vs d. When you're on ds mode it does take every gear to red line before shifting.

Op, try launching different ways then.. Tranction on/off... Manual mode/D mode... Power brake/no power brake. I usually just put it in M and punch it! Lol (I have RWD though) but I used to have a 2006 WRX/STI.
